It is barbaric enough to subject any person's brain to electro shock. However, doing this to a helpless child is not only a horrible betrayal of trust, it is child abuse and is, itself, an insane act. Only the truly criminally insane would participate in or condone such barbarism in the name of pretended help. The mental health industry needs to either come into the 21st Century or die the death of all who practice brutality.
ECT is brutal and barbaric treatment that should be outlawed. It ruins people's lives. Using it is an admission by a psychiatrist that he does not know how to help the child.
As a psychologist and long-time activist against this barbaric practtice, I declare that it is a great scandal that the state is still allowed to brain damage our children in the name of medicine.
Putting underwear on prisoners’ heads was considered “torture” yet US children can be electro-shocked and it is not news around the world. That is madness.

I have known more than one child who was seriously damaged by ECT. ECT is not a "therapy" but a barbaric attack on the individule and should be outlawed!
My grandmother had electric shock treatments twice and she never got over it, emotionally and physically. Please do not allow this to be done to children or anyone anymore. It does not work!

I support this petition. Electroshock is the lazy man's way of making a kid controlable. It is done to make money NOT for the benefit of the child. It is NOT okay to permananently damage a child or adult for the financial benefit of those with no morals or ethics.
Such a shattering thought that anyone at all would be dealt this brutality and in the name of a "treatment"! No human should have to experience this. Who can live with themselves that administers this to children!
Putting children on drugs is treasonous to the human race. My mother was taken to psychiatrists against her will when I was a child. They continued to "treat" her for years. The only thing that happened was my mother became doped up and it took away her personality. In her later years she was taken off the psychiatric drugs by my sister and within days my mothers personality returned.
Electro-shocking people ranks right up there with drugging populations to bring them under control…..but to do this to children? Please America, wake up!
Psychiatry exposes itself as the brutal, inhumane practice it is with its practice of sending high electric current through our childrens' brains. For all its years in existence, psychiatry has not produced EVEN ONE CURE! NOT ONE CURE! But that doesn't stop them from frying our children's brains, and it doesn't stop them from performing chemical lobotomies with their drugs.
