I support this petition as I am dismayed that this level of Human Right violation is being allowed legally right here in our back yard. This is a crime.
I support this petition because ECT is not a solution. ECT only harms the victum and causes death. The only one that profits are the psych's who perform this barbaric act on innocent, unsuspecting people who have need of real help.
I support this petition because I have heard about the horrors of this treatment and it is inexcusable to subject any human being to it, especially a child.
It doesn't address the problems kids are having, it only turns those kids into zombies. We are damaging the strength of our entire nation by damaging these kids this way. It's barbaric, unnecessary, unproductive, and completely destructive. Real help is available; this destruction should be made illegal.
I support this petition because it is unthinkable that psychiatrists are turning our childrens' brains into jello. It is barbaric and unforgivable that these "people" are pursuing the almighty dollar with this "treatment" on anyone but especially our children.
because ECT is a violent measure that has no real scientific basis and completely ignores environmental/social factors that form the basis of mental derangement.
shock treatment and other such brutal methods devised by psychiatrists to control behavior don't make a person well. ECT is barbaric in light of the kind, gentle and effective treatment that does exist outside psychiatric strongholds.
I am totally without reservation against this brutality. My mother at age 29 had electroshock and was never the same. She was debilitated for 2 years, not knowing who she was and was unable to sleep, terrorized in fear of pain and her recurring nightmare while "unconscious".
We would never allow a child to put their finger in a light socket. Why should we continue to allow psychiatrists to shoot high voltage through a child's brain?
