I wish to put a stop sign at the intersection between state and mineral street in Potosi Missouri to insure that the people using this road will slow down. If this is done, then the children in the area will be safe. The traffic on this street has grown because it is a back road for drunk drivers. There has been crashes due to the drinking and driving fast and if there is a stop sign, it will slow them down more to where they can drive a little safer. If they are impaired from the drinking too much and run the stop sign, then an officer should take it into the hands of the law and make an arrest. The excessive speeding is outrageous and has been reported to city police many times. Nothing has been done so far except for a police officer coming for a couple of days. In order to stop the speeding and have the community be safer is to put a stop sign in both ways. This petition is important for the community because it could save many lives and stop people from breaking the law. -James Smith and Billie Joe Isbell
