Horses are such beautiful and intelligent creatures. They carried our soliders threw battles and they carried our wounded to saftey. These animals become our best friends and we share a bond with them. We need to help these horses, wild and domesticated, because everyone deserves a second chance. Some of these horses have never been loved and have never had a real home, some have been abused and some are ex- race horses, some have had the best care in the world and others were treated like garbage. But that does not mean they need to be slaughtered. Americas horses only get slaughtered to feed someone in a forgein country a fancy meal. Slaughter is inhumane and disgusting and needs to be stopped.

***Approximately 60,948 horses have died in slaughter houses during 2004***

Slaughter is absolutly horrible. The sad part is, as long as the a**hole Bush is in office, The American Horse Slaughter Prevention act will never be signed!-sigh-[sry to republicans, just speaking the truth] I agree with all the people on this page. Slaughtering is completly cruel, for horses and for all other animals. Some examples are fast food places [who are completly cruel to their chickens] IAMS [dont feed your dog that brand of dog food PLEASE!!!!!] and Premarin. I dispise slaughter. I hate to think that most ex-racehorses are slaughtered, when they could be magnificant riding animals [horse racing is cruel too, dont support it!]. Oh well, i wish there was more i could do, but no one ever seems to care about horses [even though they do so much for us!] *Stop horse slaughter, horse racing/steeplechasing, and Premarin!* Horses have always been there for us, now it's our turn to be there for them!

horses are really beautiful and i just love them, although i've never been near one before. how could those people seeing them everday, kill them? the only way is that their heart is DEAD.

No words can express the way I feel about fu**ing slaughter houses. Thousands of horses have died for us, and this is how we repay them. The as****es who run these slaughter houses should fu**ing burn in hell!!!!!

I think it is sick that the horses are killed but it is worse that teh are slaughtered in such a savage and abusive way! How cruel can people get. Horses have done so much for us and do not deserve to die this way!!!!

You know, they even allow mustangs to be slaughtered just cause they think they use up the cows grazing land. If we hadn't overbred these horses, we would have to problems. And the prez. probably thinks it doesn't matter as much as stuff like the Iraqi War. If he can't take care of all the country's problems equally, he isn't fit to be president of this country. He clearly is not fufilling his duty to the American symbol of FREEDOM. The horses deserve WAY better!

I live in the UK. My horse was called Cheyanne, I am 17 and have been horse riding since I was 8. I had to sell my horse due to unfortunate circumstance but I sold her to my stables and still ride her and see her alot. Shes treated well, shes a thouroght bred x irish draft i would hate to think she is bein treated badly. I had so many great experiences with her and other horses, seein foals be born etc. Horses r innocent animals, the dont deserve to be slaughtered or even raced at a young age.

SAVE THE HORSES!! :) BEEN RIDING FOR NINE YEARS SINCE I WAS 8 AND I HAVE HAD GREAT EXPERIENCES WITH HORSES! I HAD TO SELL MY HORSE FOR UNFORTUNATE REASONS, I FELT LIKE I LOST A BEST FRIEND. THE BOND BETWEEN A HUMAN AND A HORSE IS A WONDERFULL THING.
