There is nothing wrong with labeling yourself, if you feel that you're just that kind of person. For the most part, I have nothing against people who choose to label themselves. However, it -is- wrong to stereotype labels… and by that, I mean making assumptions like all goths being Satan-worshipping, chainsaw-wielding criminals, all punks being cocaine-snorting skaters, all emos being weepy, suicidal outcasts, and on and on…

Of course I realize that sometimes, certain stereotypes have to be made, but there is definitely a point where it should be stopped. Stereotyping labels is discrimination, and discrimination is wrong.

I'm not going to set some stupid goal, like plans for a ban on haters or something.

But if you also feel that stereotyping labels is wrong, please sign this and tell other people about it. If you're going to hate someone, at least hate them because of something reasonable, like their attitude- not because of how they choose to label themselves.
