Hollywood has nothing new under the sun. I support this petition alright. I'd rather see a reworking of an unmade movie, Like WAR EAGLES, THE PRIMEVALS, TIMEGATE. Or something imaginative like that.

I think that a remake of such a wonderful and unique film as "Suspiria" released today would be a critical and economical disaster. I for one, will not be buying a ticket.
#74

Steinar Andersen said 11/30/05, 10:22 pm (verified)
If you truly love this film, you must understand that you absolutely can't improve it in any way! If you're only in it for the money I think you're better off remaking some other film with more commercial appeal.

hollywood's turned to vampirism, sucking the blood of classics dry to fuel a near-dead corpse. (but we all knew that anyways) yeah, just give the money to Argento and let him run wild in hollywood. might not be up to the old days, but better than this remake necrophilia.
#39

Don said 11/23/05, 2:13 pm (verified)
The trend in the last decade or more is to ruin very good films. Please don't let this happen to Suspira. Rememeber "Pyscho" and that was remade by a good director and it was still terrible. The standards are far too high to meet; try creating a new story.
#38

Christopher said 11/23/05, 1:40 pm (verified)

#35

DCLXVI said 11/23/05, 5:47 am (verified)
It would be one thing if there were a legitimate reason to remake a movie like this. However, it's obvious that the people who have this in mind for a remake are only hoping to appeal to teenyboppers with a classic masterpiece that is modernized. God forbid anyone should discover that there were actually good movies that happened before they were born!
#34

Ryan Reno said 11/23/05, 5:35 am (verified)
Why not make a new movie instead? Call me crazy.
#33

Travis Johnson said 11/23/05, 3:39 am (verified)
please don't do it. please. if you do i will cry. i mean it. i will cry. Argento himself has said that he knows the remake will be ****. if you do this you will prove that you have no respect for Argento and his art. why don't you come up with your own idea?
#32

Björn Östlund said 11/12/05, 7:29 pm (verified)
No parasites on Argento's art.

They can't do this, the kind of vision Argento had and created just can't be duplicated, especially in the corperate world of mordern day horror, this is a travesty
#28

Honk said 10/24/05, 4:34 pm (verified)
NO! NO! NO! This is enough! I'm ****ing isck of this ****! How about giving the money intened for the remake to Argento instead and let him continue his legacy!

#26

Bryan Lane said 10/21/05, 6:47 pm (verified)
Please don't do this. It's bad enough will all of the other classics being remade. No one wants to see remakes. Just re-release it instead. I'd love to see the original on the big screen!
#25

François Guay said 10/12/05, 3:17 pm (verified)

#24

Sean said 10/12/05, 12:52 am (verified)

#23

Or said 10/11/05, 5:19 am (verified)
I agree, it should not be remaid, even though it has many disadvantages. instead I sugest they make a sequel, that's inspired by the original, but has a different story.
#22

kylla said 10/07/05, 9:39 am (verified)
What is the point of a remake, that is the question we must ask? Instead of remaking this classic film, why not remarket and rerelease? It's already a beautful, masterful classic - LEAVE IT ALONE!!!! STEP AWAY FROM THE CAMERA!!!
#21

Yaron said 08/28/05, 2:14 pm (verified)
please....don't
#20

Beth Blanks said 08/18/05, 11:49 am (verified)
No way to improve on such a classic. Scariest music ever, and doing it in English with American actors lessens the anxiety by muddling the story with Hollywood baggage. Worst idea ever.
#19

Markus K. said 07/26/05, 8:56 pm (verified)
There's no point in remaking Suspiria. The original is a masterpiece and a remake would without any doubt be nothing more than yet another Hollywood-degradation. Don't burn the witch, burn the Suspiria-remake.
#18

Austin said 07/20/05, 11:57 am (verified)

I am surprised that there are very little signatures! Anyway, I have not seen Suspiria, although I have viewed one clip where the witch enters the room with the knife and the heroine strikes back. It looks good and sounds good, and overall, remakes should be stopped if it is unlikely they will improve upon the original.
