We the undersigned believe that it is unfair to the movie-loving public that a Parking Lot tax has been assigned to the twilight Drive-In Movie Theatre in Langley, BC. Whereas the owners have brought the area something good and fun, the TransLink board should exempt them from this tax, as the purpose is not to tax entertainment, but to gather revenue from the likes of shopping centres, etc.

The Drive-In movie theatre creates jobs for local young people and does not contribute to traffic congestion (Movies start at dusk, well after rush hour) and therefore, no roads will need widening, nor will bridges need to be built to sustain this facility.

This tax does nothing but take money from the users of a facility that does not add to the transportation problems of the GVRD and surrounding area and is therefore unfair.

I support this petition. Ive been going to this drive in for years and me and my freinds have enjoyed it for years.now translink has sum idea of taxing the lot i think it is ridiculous its not a parking lot its a seat at the drive in, well i hope they dont a to the twilight drive in ...GOOD ON YA!

I support this petition. It is a parking spot tax. This is not a parking lot. The fact that we still have a drive in is something we should treasure, not obliterate.

I support this petition. A drive-in is exactly what it says a Drive In why should their be tax on it, we get taxed on every little thing these days and that is all the government is about take ever little cent they can. Give people a break for once let us have some fun as well.

I support this petition. Typical case over taxing a small business, Translink should be concentrating on Home Depot, walmart, Futureshop. All the US companies running off with there money! The drive in is a piece of history in langley.

I support this petition totally. It is important to have this, the last nostalgic link to the past of drive in movies. It is a fun wholesome thing for families and young people, something we need more of. We need to support it, not throw obstacles in its path. It runs on the passion of its proprietor and employees, and of its customers. A parking tax, if it makes sense, should support better communities, not sabotage really worthwhile community ventures.
