Teenagers are too young and not mature enough to handle a responsibility as big as driving
They know that driving recklessly is hazardous and dangerous, but they do it even though their skills are raw or too inexperienced to handle a sudden emergency. Peer pressure to do what’s cool or risky overrides the voice of reason screaming inside their heads to do what’s right and safe. They mistakenly believe that their skills driving are better than they realistically are…in other words, they’re painfully out of touch how inexperienced they are.
Motor vehicle accidents are the number one cause of teenager deaths!

because people are stupid. the number one cause of deaths in teenagers might be because of drunk driving but how do teens get the alcohol. from adults who don't card. or from parents who don't care if their kids take alcohol from the liquor cabinets. i think that the parents should take responsibility for their own kids and not penalize other teenagers who aren't doing anything wrong but trying to save money on gas and trying to get from point a to point b

If we can't drink soda at school, then we shouldn't be allowed to drive. The government needs to get their priorities straight.

i dont think that the age shuld be lifted..bce inexperienced drivers will still be just as inexperienced at 16 or at 18..and if drunk driving is the problem then teens getting a hold of the alcohol is wut we shuld b dealing with- NOT the privilege of driving. the driving law fits if u can get ur liscense at 16..bce to mention a few things u r becoming more responsible around that age- 16 is kind of a pivotal age for that...and also- wut parent wants to drive their kid to and from work. i think that we shuld not stress laws as much as we do bce that is y kids feel the need to rebel. in other countries that i've been to where the drinking age is around 12...ppl barely feel the need to drink..in fact they dont do it as often and as much as we do here...in that same country ur parents teach u 2 drive at the age 12.america shuld know by now- the majority of teens will say yes to w/e u say no to, just bce u said no to it. SO STOP SAYING NO. i'm not saying u shuldnt set any guidline or ensure ur kids safety- but dont fascinate issues...the more u stress no, the more ur kid will stress yes. U LEARN RESPONSIBILTY FROM BEING GIVEN RESPONSIBILITIES!!! and dont ever forget that...live by that wen raising ur kid. driving is more than a privilege it is a responsibility..make sure ur kid knows that, drinking is another responsibility...i am a teen- 16 years old...and i am trying to let the parents out there know a little something about how 2 deal w/ ur kid. every kid is different...and sometimes u cant do wut i'm saying u shuld, bce if u let go and become leniant now, ur teen may take advantage of that. i'm saying start from the beginning- from wen ur child first turns 1 year old..give him responsibilities that u think he can handle, and some he cant so that he will know the difference, allow him the chance to think for himself from a young age. it starts there u know. kids get themselves into trouble bce they dont know all

Why stop it. Its iliminating the hoolighans, jocks and just plain idiot drivers from our roads. If people are stupid enough to risk their own lives after millions of dollars of advertising and programs, then so be it.
