Scott just doesn't understand what made this movie classic. If he wants to make a "realistic" movie about LA gangs, he's more than welcomed to - but leave The Warriors and any mention of the classic out of it. There is no reason that Tony Scott needs to "remake" The Warriors when the plot has already turned so far away from the original that it's not necessary. Leave it alone!

This movie sucks ass. But i'm signing this so i can do the remake. I actually hope they do, do this remake, cause the original was so shitty. The acting was so suck ass, but the idea was brilliant. I could hardly believe my ears when they told me that The Warriors was going to be remade. What's the world coming to? Have all the original ideas been used up? Is history just comprised of fifty year cycles over and over again? If that is the case I want nothing to do with it.

Once again, Hollywood is raping the creativity of a true classic. Instead of spending the millions on remakes, spend it on hiring people who actually have a clue on creativity and has the knowledge to create original stories and concepts. Why the hell would I pay $11 to see a remake that will never live up to the original, when I can buy the Special edition DVD for about $5-$10 more?

A cult classic, I can't see how a more contenpory remake would possibly work. Unfortunately Hollywood seems to have decided to remake every cult classic availalbe, doesn't anyone have any original ideas anymore.
First off I'd like to state that I'm 14, so this movie was made 12 years before I was born. The recent hype of the game( with is AWSOME and to me in no way disrespects the movie) inspired me too go rent the film. I LOVED IT. It instanly become one of my favorite films. So I thought to myself "great film, great scripting, and the basis of a videogame? Someone will remake this or even worse make a sequel. And either one will suck ass." After googling "The Warriors Movie" I found WARRIORSMOVIE.CO.UK(great site) and found out thare was a remake... being made by MTV...I then found this site. And pray to God this petition works.
If the Warriors is remade at least make close to the original. But no the the DUMBFUCKS at MTV want to do a tottaly different script set in LA with totally different character names except for Cyrus's name.
I think it's good that Rockstar made the game. Most of today's teenagers have never seen the movie. The game is very close to the movie and might make some of the teens want to see it.
MTV's movie are acutally ok. However an entire change in storyline to fit today's demographic is tottaly unnessacery(spelled wrong) and stupid. If a remake is made then it should be as close as possible to the original.
MTV won't even be making any money off the game popularity since the game resembles the orginal movie, while the remake doesn't.
In cocnclusion stop THIS remake and produce one that resembles the orginal film. On e that is Set in NHew York, keeps the names the same, and WON'T SUCK! A remake can be good. This however won't...

MTV shouldn't remake The Warriors they just want to ride the hype of the game that was just released. So come one MTV there are ton of other movies that are older then The Warriors and there mostly crap remake those then this one so you don't kill a classic movie.
MTV is going to destroy this film by probably adding a bunch of shoot outs,add a bunch more action (which is not needed) take out the best gangs or make them more "real" (ie. get rid of the hi hats the baseball furies etc.) and that should not be done

Why? Same as Pyscho, same as Texas Chainsaw, same as Get Carter. same as Dawn of the Dead (even though that wasn't too bad). These films are classics and are never going to be bettered, so why remake them? Start something new and leave the classics alone.

The way this remake is sounding, it shouldn't be made. They are taking away the surreal gangs to make it more 'authentic'. They should have just taken the basic plot out line and set it in LA and had no referrence to the oiginal. People would compare them, and the new one would stand or fall on it's own merit.
