REAL punks/goths/emo kids know that there are posers out there. LOTS of them. my goal is to lock them all up in a room, have a bunch of killers cut them open and play with their insides, and watch through a 2-way mirror. i always wonder why posers like pretending to be something they're not....is it to annoy the **** out of us? is it to impress try and impress other people? no, it's to fit in, to be "cool". they see a green day video on MTV and think, "hmm...im tired of being a prep/nerd/jock, i think ill be a punk" so they go to the mall in desparation, buy all of the good charlotte shirts they can find at hot topic, and brag about how "punk rock" they are the next day. posers are very annoying and desparate people that really piss me off. like, this afternoon, my friend told me that a girl we know (but wish we didn't, because she's a poser and actually thinks we're friends with her) said she was my chemical romance's #1 fan just because she saw the helena video and thinks the lead singer, gerard, is hot. i know 90% of you who are reading have probably been called a poser by millions of people, and are still denying the truth. well, here are some signs:
-you buy one item from hot topic and automaticly think you're punk/goth/emo
-you saw the "holiday" video on MTV and now you're green day's biggest fan
-you listen to good charlotte, simple plan, avril lavine, sum 41, and bowling for soup
-people call you a poser
-you deny the fact that you're a poser, no matter how many times people accuse you of it
-wear a "the clash" t-shirt to school, and not know who they are
-claim to love the ramones, but really have only heard one song
-worship the "punk" god, joel madden/pierre bouvier/benij madden...etc.

A poser is someone who does things because everyone else is doing it or for attention. A real person is someone who does it because they enjoy it and that is genuinely what they like to do. Some people are still finding themselves and dip into trends every so often. That doesn\'t make them bad it makes them curious. Sometimes you can\'t tell the difference so its best people just are left live. Yes it is VERY annoying to hear people call MCR are Emo. Yes I do like them but their music isn\'t Emo. I don\'t want them to die over it. They just need to be less ignorant. We all make mistakes. Some people really do like certain styles but are just confused on the \"real\" meaning of it. The media says one thing and other people say another and its so confusing that they don\'t know what to do. This was me at one point and I assure you I\'m not a WANNA BE. But the damned preps who want to be hardcore because of twilight, we should shoot them all...

Why are you mother fuckers saying emo/goth is fake? I am emo, not because I used to be a super nerd, but because Prep isn't my kinda style. The only reason I get consider emo is because my hair is black, I wear tight stuff and I have glasses. Whoop-de-fucking do. My best friend is a goth, and shes not a wannabe. Oh, and I doubt very much that every emo is Oh-God-Watch-Me-Slit-My-W rists Because not everyone i like this.
