CSI is one of CBS's top watched shows. If they are fired, then character replacements will have to be made. Shows generally don't survive after that. The current ensamble is what makes the show work and so popular.
Bad move CBS - these 2 are essential to CSI's chemistry between the actors - replacing them will lose that as well as viewers! Swallow your pride and get them back - NOW!
The reason the original CSI is good is because of the cast. CSI: Miami doesn't stack up. If you get rid of George and Jorja, CSI will go down the tubes too.
CSI Vegas is by far better than Miami! Cast makes all the difference. The problem is agents and their desire to get more money, not the actors.. Look at where the pro sports teams are headed, CBS better take note!!!
me parece justo que se pida un aumento, porque arriesgan mucho en la serie rodando las escenas mas peligrosas, espero que los roductores recapaciten porque seguro que no encuentran otros como ellos
Talk about trying to ruin the chemistry of a great show -- then claiming that they are looking for others. Why do execs always assume we will graciously accept the change without question?
I, personally, believe that it takes a lot of the efforts put forth into the show. CSI is like a bonded family of actors and actresses who've grown close within the show. It wouldn't be the same without all of them there.
Firing these two fine actors is a shame. What's wrong is it for these two actors trying to get a raise from a network that is making BIG BUCKS thanks to their charisma and performances in their roles as Sarah and Nick. It's a shame that CBS thinks us, the audience, stupid enough to buy the story that even though the show will not be the same without them, it will go on and trust their producers to make the show successful.
Sorry guys, but you are wrong. These two people are part of CSI whether you like it or not, and letting them go is a HUGE mistake. I'm sorry for the rest of the cast that will have to work without them, as the chemistry existing among all these actors on the small screen was wonderful.
If Jorja and George don't come back, I won't bother watch CSI, nor its spin off, as it only tells me that CBS cares more for its money than the satisfaction of the audience and the goodness of the show.
Mr. Moonves:
Do you really think the actors don’t matter to the show if the writing is good? Well, here’s a news flash: It's the ensemble cast that makes CSI as good as it is. Good writing isn't worth the paper it’s written on without the actors who bring it to life. Fox and Eades are superb, and the show’s appeal will be greatly diminished without them.
CSI: Miami doesn’t measure up, and what I saw of CSI: New York, it doesn’t look like it will either. There are already far too many cop shows set in New York fighting for jurisdiction. The cast of Miami just doesn’t make the connection to the viewers that the original cast has established over the past four seasons, and although I’m a big fan of both Sinise and Karacarendes, CSI: New York didn’t particularly appeal to me. And there are people out here dying to find out if anything will actually happen between Grissom and Sara. You can’t set up a “cliffhanger” situation like that and expect people to forget it happened, and casting a different actor as Sara isn’t an option.
It will ruin the show if they leave, CBS might as well fire them all a quit while they are still ahead. Not many of the fans are going to want to show the programme any support if it fires two of the main cast.
I don't think it would be good for the show if they left and if they had to it would be madness to recast the same parts. Jorja and George are Sara and Nick and the show would not be taken seriously if that changed. Either write the charactors out or beg em to stay!
Firing George Eads is a big mistake! His character is essential part of the show as is his characters interaction with the other characters. The show is not going to be the same and that is a shame.
This was a ridiculous move on cbs's part. If anyone there has a full brain in their head, they will rehire these two QUICKLY. DONT FIX WHAT ISNT BROKEN! ..idiots.
I am so upset to hear about George Eads & Jorja Fox being fired! I'm a HUGE George Eads fan & will not watch the show any longer if he's not on it any longer, nor Miami or NY. Please reconsider what you are doing. Surely, an agreement can be reached. There is no show without the fans!!!!!!
Many fans love CSI not only for the plot but for the characters. Not having George and Jorja on the show will have a tremendous impact on the fans and on the show's ratings. Please reconsider your decision of letting them go.
CSI is my favorite show, and I can't imagine it without Sara and Nick. It wouldn't be the same anymore, and the show couldn't be as good. I'd rather stop watching altogether than have to see a show which thinks two of its star players are completely "replaceable" and "interchangeable."
Please don't! The loss of George and Jorja from the show will definately impact the show. They are such an important part of it and their characters can never be replaced.
Although the actors' actions were inexcusable and probably dishonorable, they were merely acting in the same way many actors have before them. And, if the rumors are true and George Eads actually did show up, albeit late, to the production, even he realized the error of his ways before you gave him the axe.
I don't believe either of these characters are replaceable in the hearts of any of CSI's faithful viewers, those of us who tune in every week even to the re-runs and buy the DVD sets and CD-ROMs, greedily gobbling up anything from the CSI franchise (even the spin-offs).
CSI is my absolute favorite show, and part of the reason is definitely because of the cast. I have never really been able to get into CSI: Miami because I simply don't "connect" with them the way I feel that I (and many other viewers) do with the original cast.
Please, please reconsider this decision. I know that CSI will never be the same if they are dismissed from the cast, especially without any sort of closure. Nick was just given a promotion; Sarah was nearly arrested for a DUI. They were clearly already integrated into the next season, and I can't help thinking that re-writes of entire storylines and the introduction of new characters could only detract from this amazing drama. And I think I only say what many others are thinking: that I would rather stop watching entirely than have to see the inevitablly diminished drama that will be showing this fifth season if Nick and Sara are dismissed.
Noooo! PLease don't hire Jorja and George! You can't do this! I will not watch CSI if two of may favorite characters are not on! Nick and Sara were really cool characters! Please bring them back! Don't fire them, they were the best thing that happened to the show! Keep the original cast or I will not watch the show ever again. Thank you.
Sincerely,
No. 1 CSI Fan
Mr. Moonves, since I don't have intimate knowledge of you I naturally refrain from making any assumptions about your intelligence and your taste. However, it's rather rude you've made an assumption about me and my friends' tastes and intelligence by declaring how easily George Eads and Jorja Fox are replaceable and how we wouldn't know the difference nor care.
In fact, the oppposite couldn't be more true. Goerge Eads took a stock character (the All American jock) and imbued it with intelligence, warmth, humanity, and sensuality. This is no small feat for an actor to convey when he doesn't have showstopping moments like in other dramas.
Likewise for Jorja Fox who could've played her character as a lovesick damsel or one who relies solely on her attractiveness. Instead she gave her character an edge of defiance and strength. Even if she was wrong I was there with her.
These admirable feats can't be replicated in a few weeks with new actors whohave little preparation and or familiarity with the CSI atmosphere. If it were really true any of the actors were merely cogs in a machine I wouldn't bother watching CSI. I would just watch the plethora of forensic shows on Court TV, the Discovery Channel, and A&E. No character exists and we get the science as told by an objective narrator. I frankly like the human touch Fox and Eads bring that keep me glued to the show.
These are two of my favorite characters, and while they may not have had the best intentions, they do not deserve such a harsh punishment. Their actions and yours affect every single one of the multitude of devoted fans of the show. Don't punish us too...
The development of the characters, what each of them brings to the team, is an integral part of what makes CSI great. If you change the dynamic, which has proven itself to be a winner, you will destroy the show. The audience, I believe, watches the show not only for the forensic part, but also for the interactions of the team. I think that Jorja and George are needed to complete the ensemble of fine actors.
We need to write them, regular mail. They listen when a lot of real letters arrive. CBS Television, 7800 Beverly Boulevard, Los Angeles, CA 90036. I put CSI: Save Eads and Fox on the outside of the envelope.
What a sad day it was when I learned my two favorite actors from CSI would no longer be on the show.
CSI is the only CBS show I watch ... well, no .. I guess now I don't watch any CBS shows.
I bought season 1, 2 and 3 on DVD about 2 weeks ago, and have watched all 69 episodes since then. It makes for addictive viewing. And after watching all 69, I'm 100% sure that CSI just wouldn't be CSI, without it's original cast!!! Why change a winning formula? I'd be willing to bet all the tea in China, and all the coffee beans in Colombia, that the show will lose much more money in the long run from lack of DVD sales, than the amount Jorja and George are asking for in extra loot.
Please bring back George and Jorja to the best show on TV. SHow will not be as good without them--outstanding chemistry! We need Nick and Sara back or we will have to watch another network on Thursday night at 9PM
