I love both Jorja and George and can't bear the thought of them leaving the show. Jorja got me interested in the show and with her leaving, I don't think it will be that enjoyable anymore, so please bring them back!
The second I read the news, my first thought was, "well I'm not going to watch CSI anymore". I am not a fan of the other CSI series. I only watch this one because the cast is great. Without Jorja and George, I'm going to watch Law and Order's new series instead.
Jorja is my favorite character on this show. If she isn't brought back I will definately stop watching/buying the season dvds/purchasing the cds with the music from the show/stop buying video games, I'm sure you get the picture.
CSI is an ensemble show...and George and Jorja are important members of that ensemble. CSI will not be the same without them, and I'm quite certain their absense will cause me to lose interest in the show.
What? They're firing my two favorite actors? *okay, so I love everyone on CSI:LV, but if i had to choose the top 2 they'd be it* NO WAY!! BRING THEM BACK!
Very sad news, CSI is just an all around success, and every character adds flavor and charm to the winning recipe for a great crime investigations series. Money and greed always seems to become a factor, and this time it looks like both sides are falling victim to it's damaging results. I have watched the show since the beginning and own every box set. I watch episodes weekly. The mix without "Tony and Sara" is hard to take, and the effects will be detrimental to its followers, I hope that Jorja and George look at what the show has done for them and negotiate a way back in. Eveybody unfortunately is replaceable and take for example Michelle from "24" as a replacmeent or new actor in the show could be a positive. I personally believe they are the perfect characters for the show and hope that CBS sees their additivve to the ultimate show on air today C.S.I
Please hire back Jorja and George. Tons of fans are following the Sara /Grissom relationship and George just got the promotion! You have to hire them back!!
I think they play a big part in the whole show. If you change the casts around people will lose interest and it will become totally different. So please keep it how it is.
I love CSI and I don't think the show can survive without them. I disagree with CBS who stated that the show was about the cases and not the characters. Without the characters the cases would not be as interesting to watch. If Jorja Fox and George Eads do not return to the show, I will find another show to watch.
I love CSI! I too thought CSI was safe from being messed with, apparentally i was wrong :( ! PLEASE REHIRE THEM. or I also will not be watching the show. or buying anymore merchandise. maybe even stop watching the network completely (BUT PLEASE DON'T LET IT COME DOWN TO THAT)
this is from a newspaper..
CBS executive defends firing of 'CSI' stars in salary dispute
By LYNN ELBER
The Associated Press
LOS ANGELES - The firing of two "CSI: Crime Scene Investigation" stars in a salary dispute was fair and intended to help the TV industry draw the fiscal line, CBS chief Leslie Moonves said Sunday.
Actors Jorja Fox and George Eads, who play investigators Sara Sidle and Nick Stokes on the hit CBS crime drama, were dumped last week when they failed to report for work on the upcoming season, he said.
"There comes a point where we feel a contract is a contract. ... We all have to look out for the future of the network television business," said Moonves, co-president and co-chief operating officer of CBS parent company Viacom.
Among the major broadcast networks only CBS and NBC avoided losses last year, he told the Television Critics Association.
Deals with Fox and Eads were renegotiated after two years and a raise was offered for this fifth season although there was no contractual obligation to do so, he said.
The actors reportedly wanted a raise in their $100,000-per-episode pay.
Discussions had been under way with their lawyers and there were certain "veiled threats about their not showing up," Moonves said.
A call seeking comment from the actors was not immediately returned Sunday by their publicist.
Production will be halted this week while script revisions are made, Moonves said. The roles played by Fox and Eads have not been recast but the network is "looking at certain people," Moonves added.
Another cast member, Marg Helgenberger, reported to work as scheduled last week, he said. Co-star William Petersen is a producer on the series, and was on call for next week.
Asked if he was concerned about damage to one of TV's top-rated series, Moonves said, "Of course." Later, he said it was possible cast members Eric Szmanda and Paul Guil
I don't know all of the details, but I do hope that everything works itself out.
I'm not taking any sides, because I believe that both parties (Mr. Moonves, and Ms. Fox, and Mr. Eads)do share responsibility in this issue, although from the recent comments Mr. Moonves had made aren't exactly making him out to be a prince, but still, it takes more than one person to screw things up.
That said, I really love the show, and this issue has bothered me and I hope to make a little bit of difference.
I wish best of luck to both the actors and the show itself.
the characters of csi. L.V. are as important as the cases, you get rid of the charcters you might as well cancel the show. if JF and GE are not rehired i for one will no longer be watching.
How could you fire Jorja and George. The show will not be the same with out them and the ratings will drop dramatically. Sara Sidle is my favorite character and if Jorja Fox does not return portraying her when the new season starts I will not be watching CSI anymore nor will I be buying any CSI merchandise or watching any of the CSI spinoffs. You have made a big mistake and if you don't bring Jorja Fox and George Eads back you will lose thousands of fans and millions of dollars.
Sara's hot. Most of CSI's audience is young, you're going to get rid o the 2 youngest cast members who would otherwise make great role model for young scientists
Ugh! It frustrates me to no end that THIS was the time you just had to put your foot down, that THESE were the people you had to make examples of. Do you not have any idea how greatly this will impact the show? Sure, as it's been said a hundred times before, the star of the show, its focus, is the science not the characters but, to quote Grissom, "Without the people there is no lab". The characters and the relationships they had with each other is what has kept me coming back after the novelty of the extreme zoom wore off (sometime near the end of season one).
I am just so incredibly dissapointed with this news. CSI was one of the few shows I actually enjoyed anymore and one of the few that I actually thought was "safe" from being axed or messed with until it's beyond recognition. Instead I find out that it has with one rash decision fallen victim the the later and will no doubt be hit with the former once the ratings plummet like anyone can see is now inevitable.
I would use the remaining space here to wish Jorja and George the best of luck in finding new work but it's really not necessary. They are two incredibly talented actors who will be quickly snatched up for tv or movie roles where I'm sure they will actually receive the respect they deserve. Assuming of course that CBS doesn't swallow it's pride and get them back before then.
I love CSI but will never watch again if Fox and Eads are not resigned. Besides, after 4 successful seasons, it is inconceivable that major cast members would make only 110k per episode.
goodbye cbs!! no jorja or george..not watching here!! pay them what the deserve! your making a fortune on dvd sales alone!! what do you get paid les?? do you deserve what your paid? pay the talent what they deserve
I am a HUGE fan of CSI. I watch all the episodes, sometimes even 5 or 6 times. My reasons for watching the show are not only the exciting storyline, but the talented cast members. Changing the cast members is a recipe for disaster. The show will never be as good without the originals. If this plan is carried out I will lose all respect for the show and its producers, and I have A LOT of respect for it and them. I truly hope that you will think over this decision and reconsider.
My main reason for watching the show is Eads. I've had my eyes on him since Savannah. If he's gone, I will no longer watch CSI or maybe even the whole network.
I am really disappointed to know that these two were fired from my favorite show. CSI will not be the same without Jorja and George. What I don't understand is the double standard that CBS has for their shows. It is okay for actors on other shows to do the same, but not Jorja and George? Does not make sense to me!
Jorja and George are part of the CSI team. To continue the sucess of the show please keep them on. Other wise there might be another direction for CSI.
CSI was always a show about the evidence and the producers probably feel that this means the actors are easily replaced. The problem is that these actors give layers to characters the writers themselves have trouble fleshing out. There is no show and no loyal audience if they play so carelessly with their core cast.
