As a homeschooling parent who utilizes part of the districts books, you put me at a disadvantage because neither will they give me the teachers books. A teacher is a teacher is a teacher. We should all be treated equally in this regard.
This is completely unfair. People can sell anything that is immoral or that can have a detrimental effect on our children, such as music with explicit lyrics, or fighting equipment. Yet those of us who homeschool try to protect there innocense as long as possible and actually teach our children values are being punished?. This isn't right. Where does it end?
I am an eBay customer, and a homeschooling parent. I realize there are other places to sell my used curricula, or purchase used curricula, but eBay is such a big player, that I would hate to have to take my business elsewhere. I urge you to reconsider your position on selling textbooks with teacher aids and answers. We parents need the same curricula as teachers do!
Homeschooling is an ever-growing market, with no indication that the numbers of homeschooling parents or students will decrease. Please take this into consideration when you make your policy changes.
I am a homeschool mother of 10 (#11 due in 2 months) and have bought and sold my used curriculum on eBay for many years. This new rule needs to be changed back or I will have to take all my auction business elsewhere.
If I can buy the teacher's edition at the local Goodwill or used bookstore, why can't I buy or sell it on eBay? I'm a homeschooler and have enjoyed being able to buy used and resell when I'm done on eBay.
I support this petition. Most homeschool families are on a tight budget & purchasing our materials on Ebay allows us to save a significant amount of money each year.
