I have homeschooled using ABeka curriculum for many years. The materials are very expensive, and to help offset future year's costs, I resell the teacher editions. I would like to see eBay allow homeschooling families to sell their books on eBay!
I have been an ebay seller for over six years - I am also a homeschool father that needs to sell used curriculum to help fund the current year curriculum costs Why are you penalizing good and honest people?
There are many products that people can choose to use well or to misuse; just because someone *might* misuse a product is not adequate reason to prevent access for those of us with a legitimate need.
*Personal* responsibility is needed, not censoring.
It is E-Bay's position to provide a service, not to deal with people's moral choices. If a student purchases it in order to cheat, it is not E-Bay's responsibility...just as it is not their responsibility if someone orders a brass candle stick and then chooses to beat some one over the head with it.
Ebay is a selling point--not the education police. If you don't allow people to buy and sell their HOMESCHOOL curriculum on your site we'll simply go other routes and Ebay will be the loser since you'll be losing revenue not only from these sales but from other sales as well since many if not most of us will in the end boycott Ebay. How many homeschool students do you think would have the resources and freedome to buy books to cheat? And finally who put Ebay in charge of patrolling students? I know the government didn't so you must be self-appointed. Hmmmm it may be time to start that boycott.
My state of Pennsylvania recognizes that I am a teacher of my child as have the same rights as do teachers in schools. Therefore, I am able to purchase any and all teacher materials from various vendors.
I'm a Public School Teacher, and I DO support the petition so that homeschool families may buyand sell curriculum. I do not worry that students will cheatin public school by buying teachers' editions
I homeschool. I need the teacher material because Iam the teacher. This is not right since this material is available new to us or anyone that wants to buy it. They do not do this at books stores. I do not feel that this needs to be done here. Teachers can tell if a student is cheating very easily by thier testing scores...
