As a homeschool parent, I often purchase educational material from ebay sellers and I search for those with the teacher editions, so that I can teach the material properly. This new policy is absurd.
We are a homeschooling family and have always depended upon Teacher's Editions to help us! Most the publishers will sell to us directly or even offer Teacher's Editions for free! Why would you be punishing homeschoolers, when that is obviously going against the wishes of not only homeschoolers, but also the publishers themselves?!

If this policy is not changed, I will take all of my auction business elsewhere, and I will spread the word for others to do the same. And I have a big mouth. ;-)
As a homeschooling parent of six, homeschooling teacher editions are a must in order to teach the curriculum. Purchasing just student materials are useless. Many home educators rely on ebay to sell and repurchase new materials, including teacher editions. If one purchases an earlier edition of student materials, it would be difficult to find the corresponding teacher editions elsewhere. The majority of my purchases on ebay are for homeschool curriculum which includes teacher edtions. I do not agree with ebays suddent decision to discrimanate against home educators.
While I understand e-bay's concern to prevent students from buying the teacher books in order to cheat, I am disappointed that the situation was handled by cancelling auctions. Because most home school teacher books are sold along with the student books, that would be one indication that it is being sold for the purpose of home schooling. Please consider revising this policy.
While I appreciate your desire to keep students from cheating, as a homeschool parent and co-op teacher, I find this policy to be in error. for example, I am teaching apologia biology next fall- and all I require for my class is the teachers edition. The students will have their books, i will have mine. please change this ruling, for the benefit of all homeschoolers.
Most educational publishers that sell to public schools sell completely different tests/TE materials to homeschoolers. They are not allowed to sell to the private market. So this should be a very minor issue.
It time ebay, being a "Community of Sellers" request the input of the "Community of Sellers" for "FeedBack" of ebay considerations for "Condemnation of product" This action is representative of the Supreme courts actions of the Condemnation of property. We as the sellers that support the eBay site, should hold Community Affirmitive action rights and continue the petitions for Seller Rights. eBay could, under this action, mandate the sale of, clothes, cosmetics, any book, because eBay say, sally, might not have permission to wear that dress or put on make up. And God forbid, "SENSOR" what book can be read!!!!
As a user of eBay for many years, I feel this does not come under the umbrella of items eBay should control. The honest are penalized and the dishonest will do it anyway.
I'm a homeschooler who's purchased many teacher texts for educational purposes. I had planned on becoming a seller, selling textbook sets I no longer need. This policy forces me to abandon eBay as both a buyer and a seller.
This is ridiculous. Lets also just ban the sell of other things such as knives, paint ball guns, BB guns, pellot guns, playboy magazines--if you are going to ban the sell of things because of harm or cheating be fair about it. Selling homeschool books on ebay is the way most parents are able to homeschool the children by reselling or buying on ebay. Besides the child must be pretty smart to be able to know what teachers book to buy on line for the same curriculum they use, believe me it isn't that easy. As a parent I know, I had to really do some searching to be able to buy the teachers books to go along with the students book if they were not sold all together.
Thanks for listening, and I do hope to be able to do business with ebay soon, because I have lots of homeschool curriculum to sell.

I am one of those sellers that Ebay pulled 10 of my listings last week. I went round and round with them to no avail. Meanwhile there were over 170 other teachers editions still selling on ebay. That is only counting the ones with teacher edition or TE in listing, not even going into discription. This is not fair! They said that religious teachers editions were allowed. My listings were Alpha Omega products, religious, but I was told that that did not count. They could not be for academic subjects. HOW CRAZY IS THAT!!! I ask why were some listing still selling when mine had been pulled. Was told that when someone reported a listing violation, that ebay took swift action to stop it? So somebody out there is acting as the Teachers Edition police? How do they think that we are supposed to homeschool without Teachers manuals. I say if they pull my listings that all listings with teachers editions should be pulled or none should. That is like telling someone that they cannot buy a car manual book because they are not a mechanic .But that is not what is happening. I count on selling last years curriculum to pay for the coming year. That is discrimination of some sellers but not all.
