EBay is not a babysitter. If this is truly a problem, then require a PayPal acct or some other form of identification/verificati on of age. Taking it away altogether is not fair.
An interesting ebay response my wife received today:
"However, do to a request not only from the retailers of these books but from several different schooling institutions the decision was made not to allow these materials to be sold on the site."
Eric, Please contact me if you want to see the full email.
This makes no sens, as the same dishonest students/parents can get the answer keys many other places. I relied on Ebay for supplementing our home school. Please reverse this ridiculous policy.

Not only is this policy unfair, it will hurt Ebay in the long run. If homeschooling parents can't sell their materials on Ebay, they will go elsewhere.
If someone is so determined to cheat that they would pay a large sum of money for a teacher's edition off ebay don't you think they will find another avenue if they are deprived of that one? I am willing to bet that 90% or more of the teacher's editions bought and sold on ebay are for homeschoolers and tutors.
I rely on e-bay to purchase curriculum for our homeschool. This seems to be an infringement. If the reasoning is that a student can cheat, why cant the student just buy the book new from the publisher? This is ridiculous...
I support this petition because Ebay's policy on this issue is unfair. It doesn't make good business sense for Ebay either - many, many people are starting to use other venues to buy and sell used homeschool materials, and some are ditching Ebay altogether due to negative feelings related to this issue.
As a homeschool Mother and teacher I find this policy restrictive. I use e-bay to obtain used classroom materials therefore it prevents me from being able to obtain affordable full curriculum materials for our school. Homeschools are private schools and the Mothers/teachers should have access to the materials they need to teach their students. Nareda DeCleene
Many homeschoolers use ebay to exchange curriculum. Many states give homeschooler the same legal status as private schools. This makes homeschool moms teachers. This is a poor decision that will have a negavtive impact on everyone, including ebay.
Ebay allows for listing of MATURE MATERIAl. Why can't Ebay have a tighter control over who it is buying the TE books the way they do for MATURE MATERIAL? Or is there not enough profit in homeschool material as there is in VIDEO GAMES rated MATURE? If you have sellers verify buyers age when buying MATURE MATERIAL then the same could go for TE otherwise both items should be banned not just the EDUCATIONAL items. I am just appalled that ebay would ban the sell of these books. BTW don’t you need to be 18 years of age to buy off ebay? That of course depends on parental accountability and we really don’t want to push that issue now do we?
I homeschool, and need access to TE books. Since I homeschool, we are one income family. Therefore, I need CHEAP access to TE books. If ebay chooses to further enforce this rule, it will have a negative affect on my family's budget. And my choice on whether or not to continue using Ebay.
It's not eBay's job to teach and discipline children. Let the teachers deal with potentially cheating students. After all, that's what discipline is all about.
We send folks to the moon, we can certainly figure out how to make an improvement to ebay's policy that addresses their intent without the collateral damage on homeschool sellers.
