I support this petition. ABS-CBN made the switch to DirectV because of money. They found out that they can cut equipment cost and manpower cost (sales, accounting, customer care, dealers, coordinator and installer) by switching to DirecTV and at the same time get commission money between $200-$300 per customer they switched. But what happened is that their former employee that they laid off were able to get hold of their customer database and started recuiting their customer promising them rebates, magazines and the free 20 mins. telephone thru underground connections inside ABS-CBN. They did lost thousands and thousands of money because of their former employee doing this underground activity. They did recuit new dealers which the authority to do migration but they found out that they can get more money (2 times more that ABS-CBN) if they work with an independent company. So they do double dipping and use their authority and inside connection in giving out the rebates, magazines and free telephone calls. Mr Lopez was fooled by his former and current employee. Hurrah!
I support this petition.ABS-CBN broke the Privacy Act Law by diclosing the customer information to DIRECTV. And in some cases even you want the services of filipino dealer/installers DIRECTV will disapproved new account no. because ABS-CBN gave the vital information to DIRECTV such as phone nos., addresses, SSN, etc.Moreover, a lot of filinos were dissatisfied with the services rendered by DIRECTV approved installers. And most of the time because of techinical knowhow said installers can not install and activate the system.
I support this petition. I done this decision to switch to direct tv because of my wife. However, after waiting for more than 15 days direct tv failed to show up on the day of installation. On that moment I called TFC and Direct tv to canceled my oreder.

It is sad that we are already away from our native land and we are still trick by our own Kababayans.I got disconnected today by TFC simply because I did not switch to Direct TV. I am always early on payments. All I want is the money back from the equipment I paid so much up-front .Recall that they are even advertising that the old equipment will still work. While my cousins and my sister still have their TFC boxes working , I got mine disconnected first because they are doing this by batch according to support.We are currently seeking legal advice for this and probably work on a class action lawsuit. I will create a website and flood the internet for the protest.
I've called TFC several times saying we didn't want to switch and if they shut us off, we want a full refund + on the equipment which would be useless. We don't want DirectTV!!!

We are having a terrible time in dealing with Directv customer service and technicians. It almost seems like they are not ready to support an install TFC. First time it took 4 hours to set up TFC with Directv. Then less than 3 months later the TFC service no longer appeared on Directv. I have been without TFC for almost 3 weeks and they still cannot get it fixed. I am told to wait for a lead technician who is not available until November 12. What a mess. I have been a TFC subscriber since 1998. Feel like ABS-CBN really dropped its loyal customers without proper support!
This is a scam by TFC. You can sell your service to DirectTV but keep the old customers with the old equipment. I currently have Dish Network (which is a better deal in my area of Texas) and I am appauld that you want to force loyal customers to DirectTV. I will not give up my Dish Network and will not pay for two American based satelite companies. If you cut your signals for the old receivers then "YOU WILL LOOSE ME AND FOUR OF MY FRIENDS AS CUSTOMERS". P.S. TFC should refund us the equipment fees so we can be done with them.
Perhaps DirecTV is to blame as well. This seems to be an attempt to regain the customers they lost to the cable companies by appealing to the "Ethnic" audiences. I can tell you right now I would rather lose TFC than go back to DirecTV; it's just not worth the extra money. Warning to TFC - YOU WILL LOSE CUSTOMERS.

Quit your crying! I'am glad they have a contract with Direct TV. This is just a question of supply and demand. I'am now paying less for TFC and GMA7 in one satelite service.
I paid lots 4 years ago for the equipment, what a rip off. I don't want or like DIRECTV. I have Dish and the Mabuhay channel is presently on it, but for how long? TFC should be ashamed of their shoddy business dealings.
this is too much-TFC advised us to have a new receiver, then after few months-here we go again we need to sign up for direct tv - sobra naman - hindi na entertaining ang dating - burden na sa monthly gastos....
I paid $199 for the equipment a couple of years ago. Now they send you a letter saying you'll have to switch to DirecTV within two months because you'll be losing your signal. TFC sucks. Unfortunately, GMA Pinoy TV got a bad deal too, they were packaged as an attachment to TFC Direct and you can't get GMA Pinoy TV as a separate channel from DirecTV. DirecTV sucks too.
They need to reimburse the people who bought the satellite system out right or not let us pay the extra $9.95 programing fee by directTV. Class action lawsuit all the way!

I was a valued customer of TFC for over 5 years, and this is what they do to you. I hope some one starts a Class Action Law sute against TFC. Now I have a dish and a converter, which I paid big money for and will not be able to use it. This is wrong!!!
I just want to thank TFC for giving me heads up on switching to Direct TV. Now I will NOT pay my last 2 month, so take that TFC and go to HELL with Direct TV also. I will not switch. EVER. Direct TV and TFC Suck.
