I was a sixth grade student at Hunting Ridge Elementary School from year 2005-2006. As you may recall, there was a very pointless refferendum that made the graduating sixth grade class miss the trip to the Pavillion. Now, in the years 2006-2007, the refferendum was recalled, which means this year the sixth grade class got to go to the Pavillion. I am making this petition so the Board of Education will let us take a makeup trip to the Pavillion.
For one thing, this makes our sixth grade year feel skipped over. The 2004-2005 class got to go, and so did the 2006-2007 class. It feels like we just missed a great time to have fun and hang out with our classmates, and also celebrate our departure of elementary school.
My very close friends went to the Pavillion today, and they said it was amazing. There is rockclimbing, a pool, a sauna, and many other pretty sweet things, that we didn't get to experience, just because of the District's decision. And may I mention, that that decision was quite pointless, because it didn't even stay in effect for one year.
I am asking you, the Board of Education, to consider letting the current seventh grade class of Plum Grove take a makeup trip on your behalf. We would go during the summer of seventh grade. Since we didn't get to go last year, why not go now?
The Pavillion is a beloved sixth grade tradition at Hunting Ridge school, and I presume that it has been going on for a long time. We feel skipped over and left out of all the festivities. So I am urging you to let us take a makeup trip, and finally, our grudge could be over.
