Prince fans would like to protest against the treatment they received during the purchase of concert tickets for the Earth Tour Concert tickets, in the O2 Arena in London.

AEG Live concert promotor has misinformed the Prince fans about the availability of tickets which resulted in fans buying multiple and more expensive tickets for concerts and aftershows.

Ticketmaster had started presale of the tickets for O2 customers but the majority of these people could only obtain upper tier tickets despite their early booking. When the official sales started many fans were offered upper tier tickets although they chose "best available" which suggested that upper tier, lower tier and floor tickets were available. Only a minority got lower tier seats at that point.

Shortly after, AEG began advertising the 15 first concerts in London as being sold out and the Ticketmaster website displayed "Currently Not On Sale" at numerous occasions. Articles in the press all praised the star for selling out so quickly, based on AEG's statement. As a result many fans bought VIP tickets under the assumption that no other tickets would become available anymore. A few weeks later the remaining VIP tickets were auctioned off at very high prices as being the only seats left.

Suddenly it was announced that "new seats had become available upon the completion of the O2 Arena" and lower tier seats went on sale at Ticketmaster's website at unpredictable moments. Those fans now saw an opportunity to get better places and although Ticketmaster refused to exchange their tickets, many bought new ones with better places. Ticketmaster refused refunds and exchanges because of its purchase policy, bu it was very arbritary : several fans did get refunds or exchanges when they called while a great number was refused the very same.

At that point the owners of VIP tickets became pretty frustrated about being left in the dark about the availability of tickets. This got even worse after Prince announced on his own website 3121.com that his loyal fans could obtain "floor tickets" at the regular £31.21. This campaign, although well intended, was carried out far too late, leaving fans behind feeling exploited because the majority had by now already bought tickets at upper tier AND lower tier AND some even at the floor (VIP).If they had announced this prior to the pre-sale, the fans would have been ecstatic !

Many fans have spent much more than they budgeted for and are left with feelings of bitterness and anger.

There are also problems with collection of tickets for international fans. For certain dates box office collection was the only delivery option for international customers. The current credit card present policy will cause problems for many European fans that have bought tickets for their friends and are unable to accompany them for the pickup. If this is not possible, The O2 and Indigo2 venues should be persuaded to accept Letters of Authorisation to facilitate the pickup or the fans should be given the possibility to print a copy of their ticket online. This TicketFast technology exists on Ticketmaster's website but was never activated...

I am a very big PRINCE fan who has spent a fortune on seats and then had to buy others as they have been released. On the first morning, I was issued with Upper Tier 406 at about 9.15 am and then told the show was sold out - discusting

I totally support the comments made about misinformation regarding Prince tickets. I am a loyal and devoted fan of Prince - I booked a VIP ticket (amongst other tickets) thinking I would in the best seats, however, given all new and slowly released information, I am not so sure. I definitely feel cheated and believe I have overspent on concert tickets
