I believe that the legal age limit to purchase tobacco and tobacco products should be decreased to the age of 16. We have the right to smoke at that age, yet we do not have the right to purchase it? I believe that to be very conflicting with our so-called 'freedom'.
I am a 17-year-old male, who smokes two packs a day, and it's becoming a mere complication to get my cigarettes. We are told we live in a country of 'freedom' yet we cannot at the age of 16 buy a pack of cigarettes, meanwhile we can move out at that age.
Our government accuses the cigarettes as the killer, meanwhile it is merely the makers of the cigarettes that kill the people. The early natives didn't have all these harmful chemicals in the cigarettes, the industry put them in there to make them more addictive. Therefore, how can we be believing the government. It's not tobacco that kills, it's the mothballs, and other harmful chemicals.
I believe that we should lower the age limit to at least some lower degree, 18 even would do wonders. The government would also have alot more money to research what is actually in cigarettes, and perhaps prohibit the use of harmful chemicals.
We as the people must unite to take an aggravated assault upon the country. Prove to the country even a teenager can have a voice, and know how to bring up society correctly. We are supposedly a free country...Let's make it free!
