This is a petition to have Cynthia Lawson teach Thesis Studio 2 in the MFA Design and Technology department for the Spring 2010 semester. Those of us in her class this semester consider her to be both encouraging and constructive in ways that push us in positive and productive directions. Students in other thesis sections who experienced her feedback during midterm evaluations found it invaluable as well. When learning she may be unable to teach this coming semester we were highly discouraged and wrote personal letters requesting she be on the roster. The night before registration we learned that her position remained unconfirmed. However, the thesis section without a confirmed instructor filled up within one minute. Cynthia Lawson is very qualified for this position and our final projects could be outstanding with her direction and support.
