We've seen in the past that Michael Jackson's concerts have always been heavily edited before they are released.

In 1992's Dangerous Concert in Bucharest, which was released on DVD, we saw lots of editing with so many crowd shots from places other than Bucharest. I'd rather wish for Dangerous Tour, New Year's Eve concert in Tokyo to be released.

Out of the 70 or so HIStory Tour concerts only 10 or so were professionally filmed and released. All were professionally filmed and displayed on Jumbotrons, but each and every concert was different, some better than others. MJ wanted specifically the Munich Concerts on July 4 and 6 to be released on a DVD. He set up lots of camera cranes to get the best experience off of the concert for fans. But for him, it came was a disappointment since he didn't dance as well as he wanted, being sick with severe laryngitis at this part of the tour. He tried making it look better with better camera views and combining both concerts for most songs for the final cut of the concert to be televised. But it was never released on DVD.

The concerts from Madison Square Garden 2001 were also edited fairly badly. While it was a great TV special to watch, parts of it were disappointing. Billie Jean was edited to be shorter than its performance at both concerts.

I can expect MJ will release an edited This is It concert onto TV or DVD... I never like that.

I don't like loads of crowd shots because we can't focus on Michael.

Maybe he will never release it, as we've seen with the extensive hype and a petition on this site for Bad Tour Wembley 1988 (which may be edited but seems awesome) to be released on a DVD. Still as of now it has not been released.

Therefore, MJ Fans, sign this petition if we want the upcoming This is It Concerts to be released UNEDITED. The best performance out of the 50 concerts of each song is okay enough, but it would be preferable if Michael would also air 10 or so different concerts. But all have to be clean and not combined from multiple dates.

UPDATE: Tragically, if you didn't know, Michael Jackson died on June 25, 2009, just 18 days before the concerts were to begin. There is some footage of his final rehearsal, so this is now a petition for both Michael's last rehearsal, and also for Bad Tour Wembley 1988 to be released. Michael never wanted such a concert released in full, and I expected that if it was never to be released, it would only be released after he passed away...
