The J.M. Smuckers Co. purchased the rights and brand of Three Rivers Cornmeal earlier this year. At that same time they also decided to stop production of this most valued brand. The company says sales were to low to continue it's production for profit. With the many cook whom use it, I cannot see how their data is correct. This product has a rich history with Southern cooks for well over 75 years. Many cooks are now outraged. Can you really blame them? A staple product for our kitchen has now been discarded and the company's stance is simply to buy an alternative brand. Above that, jobs were lost because of the company's insensitivy to it's most valued customers and employees. With the economy as it is now, how could they in good faith reduce jobs even further? How do they justify turning away loyal and faithful customers? As customers, employees, family and friends, we must not allow this to happen in silence.

The quality taste and texture of Three Rivers brand cannot be duplicated with any other brands. Other brands are produced to fine, yellow and turn out like cake. If true cornbread lovers wanted that, they would just make cake instead. Three Rivers brand has deep yellow color, perfect corn texture and the rich taste that is unbeatable. I know for a fact that the Three Rivers brand is blue ribbon quality. My 11 year old son has won the 4H baking competition 4 years running using Three Rivers brand cornmeal. Judges passed over the competitions brand and found Three Rivers to be ribbon quality in baking, taste and texture.

If your a loyal Three Rivers brand customer, I encourage you to sign this petition in an effort for this company to see the error they've made. Let your signature represent your disapproval of their decision.

To the J.M. Smucker Co. we request that you see our signatures and the faithful following that we had to this product. We implore you to rethink the decisions you've made and ask that our product's production and continued sales be restored. Restore to the employees jobs that will support their families, financial stability and continued growth as citizens. Restore our faith in your company and in the products you produce.
