We, Filipinos in Japan, representing Migrante International, an
alliance of Filipino migrants organizations worldwide, and the three
biggest Filipino associations in Japan with more than thirty (30)
chapters combined, namely the Kalipunan ng mga Filipinong Nagkakaisa
(KAFIN), Filipina Circle for Advancement and Progress (FICAP), and
Philippine Women's League (FWL), have joined forces in denouncing your
government's rampant violation of human rights and repression of the
Filipino people's democratic and political rights.
We are outraged by the fact that your government has chosen the path
of terrorism and violence to stop the intensifying people's protest
against your illegitimate government. Under the guise of Proclamation 1017, your acts of suppressing legitimate dissent remind us of the dark years of Martial Law. But now that you have lifted your own brand of
terrorism, we wonder, Madame Arroyo, what you would do next?
As peace-loving Filipinos, we cannot just watch you and be silent
about your acts of violence against our people.
We condemn in the strongest term the arrest of Anakpawis
Representative Crispin Beltran, and your order to pursue and arrest other Partylist Congressmen belonging to Bayan Muna, Anakpawis and Gabriela Women's Party, members of your rival political parties, and other civilians calling for your immediate ouster. I do believe that what is happening in our society right now, particulary our continuing political and economic instability could be accounted for the government nor the people alone but for the two of them. A good country is a product of an effective collaboration between its leaders and constituents. As what former President Manuel L. Quezon had once said that we can never have a strong country unless we have a strong people. We should not put the blame to the present administration because this administration will never be in power without helps from the people. I do not like Mrs. Arroyo and I am supporting this petition, however, I think aside from asking for her immediate ouster or resignation, we should also be able to offer our help in building a new nation of hope for our people so that this crisis won't happen again in the future. If we wanted to change this country then we should start in ourselves first. We have to think what part could we take in forging a new system of government. Certainly, it is the responsibilty of every Filipino to take his part in building a strong and responsive country.

Its seem obvious that the many signatures that do not seem to support this petition come from a single person or maybe two. Here is a suggestion: how about make your own petition and invite others to sign it. Stop those name-calling and baseless arguments please cause the more you talk the more it shows how empty your arguments are and the more you show that you don't have respect for other people's views (funny is, the majority view!)
