Dear Video Gaming Community,

Recently the reputable game software developer Square Enix has satisfied long-time fans of its flagship series of Final Fantasy role playing games by bringing the last title in the series to have been declined stateside release to the Anglophone RPG fans of the world. By offering Final Fantasy III to English-speaking Nintendo DS owners, the makers of this classic title have done a tremendous service to the multitudinous members of the worldwide gaming establishment who have attentively followed the progress of the video game artistic platform from its very inception.

I have put together this petition to bring to the attention of the distinguished developers at Square Enix that another equally significant title has escaped their notice and desperately requires their immediate attention in bringing it to the light of the world. I speak, of course, of Square’s Tom Sawyer, based on the classic of American literature. Until now, American audiences have been neglected the chance to experience this ageless tale of moral and spiritual redemption rendered in RPG form and released on the Famicom game console by the renowned artists behind the Final Fantasy franchise.

As a symbolic show of friendship between Japan and the United States, we humble gamers implore Square Enix to show this canonical marvel of American culture and classic gaming the same unprecedented restoration that recently provided the timeless video game classic Final Fantasy III with an updated release for the Nintendo DS. Only in this way can American devotees of the Square Enix line of role playing games finally experience this historically significant title in the full splendor and magnificence deserving of such a prominent and celebrated title. We hope our pleas will not go unheard and Square’s Tom Sawyer will finally receive the worldwide attention it so desperately deserves.

Sincerely,
Joynas Jeriaska

Funny thing, i was thinking how cool it would be if this were released on the DS just the other day... then I find this! Many people would love to see this not only be remade on the DS, but also in America.

Tom Sawyer man, Thats weak, But since your tryin to get Square to make a game for North America, I'll suppose you guys, But just for the record, Games are released in more then the US in North America, So the friendship between US and Japan is clearly a Typo

It would be a shame if this game was never brought to America. Think of it, Square -- all those gamers reading Tom Sawyer in an extremely vapid fashion would find an amazing new incentive to become interested in the book. After playing the gem of a game, maybe they'd turn to the actual novel and enjoy reading it. Forget the remakes of popular old school Final Fantasy titles. This game demands more love.
