Karmenu Mifsud Bonnici is petitioning the Maltese government 'to take urgent action to stop migration'. We are petitioning the government to take urgent action to stop Karmenu, by following the Thai example and towing him out to sea (but first giving him a hobza and a bottle of San Michel).

I support this Petition. Seems that now EVERYBODY is talking about illegal immigration. When this phenomenon started a couple of years ago, those who spoke against these visitors were labeled as racists, and it was like a taboo to speak against illegal immigration. Some also referred to these people as 'irregular immigrants', as if 'illegal' was considered too offensive. We should offer whatever help we can to genuine refugees, but those who enter our country pretending to be refugees should be deported and not handed a 5000 euro cheque for their effort!

I support this petition. It's a boy thing (and a girl's too no doubt). We all feel this urge (especially when young) to experience a primitive lifestyle. It is instinctive. Look at how popular camping and sleeping looking up at the stars is. And caravanning. The excitement of making do with next to nothing. In a field. On the beach. Anything as long as it is away from the stranglehold of urbanisation. It is manifest even in very young children who will make a 'house' under the stairs with a piece of cardboard, or feeling secure under the table (in my younger days) with the tablecloth reaching to the floor. And then came plastic, and Wendy Houses. It is Tarzan and Jane all over again. It is observation of human behaviour. Sometimes raw, and dangerous, with the frisson of insecurity. It is all there. Now where shall I set up my tent tonight? I don't live in London.

I support this Petition. Are the other countries who are deporting illegal immigrats and disregarding their international obligations being considered as pariah states? To hell with whatever we will be considered. All illegal immigrats must be expelled forthwith.

I think that Mr Joe Public will not wait till the population of ILLEGAL immigration doubles which, at the rate that it grew this year, it will take less than 2 years to do so and then will be looking for more than fairy dust to solve the problem just to satisfy the international obligations. It seems ok for countries like Libya and Tunisia and the EU to drag their feet, but it does not seem right for THE MALTESE to protect their interests............ Explaining it as you wish, but you will not find many people who will share your thoughts! Let start something new, and stop taking a defeatist stand and instead put Malta's interest first. My name is not Charles.

I support this petition.Maltese love going to Tunisia on a short break. If more people boycott Tunisia as a holiday destination as a response to the Tunisians problem, we should have more leverage on this situation. Spend money on those who spend it on us not on those who burden us more. My name is not Manuel.

I support this petition. It's unbelievable what are you saying. People have every right to know what diseases these people are carrying and that they have a higher risk of getting HIV if they have sex with illegal immigrants rather then with Maltese people. If there is a mistake the media did in the past is that it didn't report every crime committed by illegal immigrants and not vice versa.

I support this Petition. I was merely applying basic human psychology. Namely, that a person who perceives himself as unwelcome/a burden, and so on will often grab any opportunity to be seen to be doing a good deed, to ingratiate himself (bil-Malti ngidu, biex jagti risposta). This is basic human psychology, insidious, dishonest, not genuine. And it works. It is called conning people. Anybody who can not understand this basic human tactic needs to get a grip. Trusting people and taking them at face value because it is politically correct, it is the right thing do, and most commonly, because one can not be bothered to rack one's half brain to read into people's minds is a sure recipe for disaster. It goes against one's survival instincts. I don't live in London.

I support this petition and I vote Labour.Do you expect us to keep welcoming all illegal immigrats that make it to Malta and keep them here? NO WAY. Whether NOG's, other organizations and whoever thinks otherwise should put their money where their mouth is and take all the illegal immigrats to their own countries. If the government had guts it would order that the illegal immigrats be put back on their own boats when the sea is calm, tow them to just outside Libyan territorial waters, give them enough fuel to make it to and point them to the Libyan shores and give them the marching orders. Not ONE SINGLE ILLEGAL IMMIGRAT must be allowed to remain in Malta whatever any one says.

I support this Petition. Nobody is going to help us in this. Nobody wants problems in his/her country. We have to help ourselves and we can start by using our ballot wisely. And by wisely, I mean not falling for promises from parties with a track record of not delivering in the past. Or parties whose strings are pulled by the liberal leftists in Brussels. My name is not Charles.

Din isbah mill ohra. What Dr Falzon seems to be doing is to create a sense of culpability within our own society microscoping us into a category of paranoic victims of mass hysteria. That is focussing on the victim not as a victim but as an accused -i.e. inverting the roles 360 degrees. Dr Falzon should first appreciate what the national feeling about immigrants is all about. There is a huge chunck of our society that does not beleive in multiculturalism and integration the way the EU wants it. and will do everything it can to prevent it. from happenning I count myself among those who want to keep our traditions and our way of life as much as we possibly can without having to compromise with people who come from a totally different background and different ideals that we can never share. Dr Falzon should think as a Maltese citizen, from a Maltese standpoint, not as someone detached from the realities we are living in...My name is not Joe.

I support this Petition. Perhaps, this will deter some of the illegal immigrants to think twice before deciding to make the crossing and who are blatantly abusing our hospitality and perhaps also put some brakes on the criminals, who are making a fortune in this human trade! Incidentally, aren’t we indirectly accomplices with these criminals when we allow these illegals to our shores? My name is not Joseph.

Do illegal immigrants and their NGO defenders expect them to be afforded lodgings at the 7 star Borg Al Arab hotel? "The tent cities in Ħal Far, one an open centre and the other a detention facility, have been slammed by international humanitarian organisations and European human rights institutions." If they don't like it they should put their money where their big mouth is and take all the illegal immigrants to their own countries.

Of course, we do not let them drown! For the sake of argument, should we pay ransom money to hostage takers, say in Iraq? Payment of ransom money is discouraged by the authorities that be, as this tends to increase the taking of hostages and indirectly be succumbing to the whims of the terrorists. My name is not Joseph.

I support this Petition. The way I see it, the biggest problem Malta has is lack of space. Malta is already heavily overpopulated and the endless, uncontrolled influx of illegal immigrants is drastically exacerbating this. My name is not Michelle.
