The writers of the WGA are the ones who create the shows we obsess over. They have good reason to strike. I really hope they manage to earn what they deserve.
I fully support the writers and what they stand for! Stand up to these cheapskates, guys! It's time y'all made your voices heard and be treated fairly!
I fully support the WGA. They deserve more than what they're getting. They aren't asking for much. Without writers Television would be nothing. I refuse to stream/download shows, buy DVDs, and watch the replacement programs. Have a heart AMPTP and give the writers what they deserve.
The writers deserve to earn a good living, and get a good share of the returns from sales of what they write. Honestly, I feel they could demand more than they are and have a case. Good luck to them, and I hope it doesn't take too long to get what they need - and that TPTB see sence soon.
Without good writing, TV is just a bunch of pretty people standing around doing nothing. If the strike goes on through the end of the year, I vow that not only will I not watch reality programming, purchase any DVD's or view any show content online myself, NO ONE on my holiday shopping list will be getting any DVDs or iTunes gift certificates. Last year, that was fifty percent of my holiday purchases. Think about it.
The WGA are striking for the rights of ALL writers. This is an important issue. I will miss my shows but this is too important just to roll over and give in. I SUPPORT THE WGA!
Writers work very hard. Some of it is quite fun, but it's all real work. Give them what they deserve! Without a writer, an actor, director, et al, have nothing to do!
I fully support the WGA, and that means no more DVDs, no more streaming, no more anything until they are getting their fair compensation. Without the writers, this industry would have and be nothing. The treatment of them and this entire situation by the networks is disgusting.
I will no longer be buying DVDs or watching streaming video from network websites until the strike has ended. In addition, I refuse to watch any shows - reality programming or otherwise - used to fill the gaps in programming.
I'm so right behind the writers... check out my coverage of it here, at; joshshill.com/tag/wga-str ike/Comment, keep up with news and videos, and hopefully soon some interviews. Back the Writers!
