Everyone needs to stand behind these guys. The sooner everyone gets on board, the faster this will be resolved...that means you SAG, and you DGA, and you IATSE!
Give the writers the recognition and support they deserve. All they want is a little chunk of the pie. Barely a drop in the bucket compared to what the entertainment industry makes.
The WGA has my full support. Give them a fair contract - the writers are the heart and soul of the shows you make millions of dollars from, give them their due.
The writers have made a show that not only is hilarious but has a lot of heart. I've shared a lot of good times in front of the TV with friends and family. So thank you and I support you 100%!
Without writing, you have no shows. You make think reality shows will cover your asses, but that is not what we want all the time. Stop being greedy and give the writers what they deserve...payment for their work!!!
There is too much reality tv. And with this strike, there will be more. We need quality programming and writing, and the WGA can provide that, but if the networks don't pay the WGA their worth, then I fully support the strike and the WGA.To the networks: Pay them what they're asking. You're hurting yourself without them then you are when you pay them what they want. It's common sense to the networks, but all they care about is money.
Writers deserve fair shakes, just like everyone else. If the networks don't see that, then why should college students like myself work to write? Why should we spend our money to learn a trade that the networks don't deam worth their time? Sit down and make some negotiations before you turn the public away!!
I support the WGA! Without writers, there would be no TV shows and movies, and yet the studios aren't willing to give them the very small percentage of profits on the internet and DVDs. I won't be watching any TV in solidarity until the strike is over.
I support the WGA strike and believe the writers should be compensated for the revenues made through different mediums, especially the internet. The studios should take care of this matter as soon as possible so that we don't have to miss out on our favorite shows! :(
I fully support the WGA in their strike. Apparently studios haven't taken any notice of the fact that the internet has changed the world, they're raking in massive revenue from television sales that are exponentially greater than they were 20 years ago when the current agreement was made. DVDs didn't exist then - now they're one of the biggest markets on the planet. I stand by the decision to strike, and will continue to do so until the writers receive what they deserve, a reasonable settlement.
The writers are the foundation for all of the shows we love. They're the ones who give us our storylines, and jokes, and quotes that keep shows on for years. Show them the respect that they deserve. It's hard to find good writers these days.
Give the writers their fair share. They're the people who create the stuff with which you make money in the first place. Their demands are reasonable. As a viewer who loves the world which they create, I fully support the WGA. Just give them their money and let Joss Whedon, Jane Espenson, Bryan Fuller, Alan Ball, Josh Schwartz, Craig Wright and all the other writers go back to work.
