A petition you have to pay for?!You writers are to stupid to strike. This WGA degrades the strike efforts of REAL AMerican workers. You are a lazy and overpaid MINORITY among the media.Which is why the news media and the American public in general have not given it even HALF the coverage or interest as the UAW strikes.F%$# YOU ALL!!Now get back to work and thank us who tune into the crap you puke out.
The writers are what make the entertainment worth watching. Just ask any actor who tried to come up with his own lines how easy it is to act without anything to go off of. WE LOVE WRITERS!!!
The writers absolutely deserve their share of the new media benefits. TV will suck in the interim, but you can't fault them for trying to get what they ought to be entitled to.
There's so much that can be said about the media cashcow and what it deems 'acceptable' - tv, radio, programming, news, gossip - when so much of it is truly outstanding. Learn to recognize good, quality writing and how invaluable it is to programs like 'The Office.' Just look at the fan response to the Scranton Office Convention - never in my life have I seen such heartfelt dedication to a sitcom...surely that kind of fan loyalty is worth making sure your writers and production crew are well compensated?
I will watch no scripted television, nor any television aired in the place of scripted television, and nor will I buy any DVD or videos until the strike is resolved and the WGA gets its way.
It's only fair that these writers are compensated for their work. The internet is quickly becoming the main transport for media to the general public and a percentage of revenue made from the advertisements shown during the internet episodes rightfully belong to the people who created the script.
