After reading about Twilight fan attacks and Twilight related suicides, I am starting this petition online to garner attention to said attacks and suicides, and wish to ban these books because of these events.

The first link provided is to an account of a fangirl attack in the UK (presumably in high school). According to the story, the girl was reading a Twilight book in science class instead of paying attention, so a boy sitting near her told her to put the book away and pay attention, offhandedly mentioning that the books were, in his opinion, dumb. She put the book away and gave him a death glare. He and his friend started conversing about how diehard the fans are and how stupid it is sometimes. (Their words.)
Roughly 15 minutes later, while the students were working with their chemistry experiments, the girl came up behind the boy, tapped him on the shoulder and said she had a question. He turned around and she proceeded to throw her entire beaker full of acid at him, splashing it all on his face, screaming "You ******* Twilight hater!" at him.
As if this wasn't enough, she then proceeded to pick up a compass and stab him repeatedly. As the girl was being carted away, the look on her face is described by the friend of the victim as 'smug.' At the time of writing, this boy is hospitalized, with severe burns and the possibility of being blind in his left eye. This event happened on February 2nd, 2009.

The second link I have is about a boy whose family is made up of Twilight fans, and who berated him to the point of suicide. Thankfully, this boy's friends helped him out, and he did not commit suicide. However, there has already been one recorded suicide because of this, and another close call is not acceptable. This boy was 12 at the time of posting.

The third link I have provided is to a list of Twilight-related attacks and incidents, both petty and criminal. They consist of physical violence, jumpings, sexual harassments, thrown bricks, cigarette burns, broken bones, stalkings and even attempted drownings. Please read through these to be informed.

This petition is to gather attention to these stories and to eventually have a national news station report on these events.
