As to the Ron/Lavender posts a while back, the reason Ron started snogging Lavendar all over the place was because of what Ginny said about him being jealous that she, Harry, and Hermione had all kissed people and he hadn't, that's all there was to it, he wanted to prove he could get the girl and wanted to prove Ginny wrong.

Yeah Jonathan, about the Dan/Emma theory, I've been suspecting that for a long time. I bet many H/Hr shippers did not have a proper image formed in their mind about Hermione's personality and appearance before watching the movies. Now, don't get me wrong, I think Emma Watson makes a great Hermione. But, you have to admit, she does begin to stray from her character a bit in the PoA movie. Suddenly, her hair isn't bushy anymore, she's no longer quite as much of a know-it-all, and she's suddenly become Miss Fashion Queen. Some people must be such huge Emma Watson fans that they've convinced themselves that there's no better girl for dreamy Harry than Hermione. Now, I've seen Emma and Dan off screen and I guess they would make a pretty cute couple if they started dating. But, Emma Watson and Hermione Granger are not the same people. These shippers need to get the movie Hermione out of their heads when we're dealing with the book Hermione. Otherwise, we're gonna have a heck of a hard time breaking through to these people.

An odd thought came to me today. I was browsing through HermionePotter.net, innocently going through the forums, noticing that Caina's avatar contained a picture of Harry and Hermione as portrayed by the actors. Then something hit me. I looked at Pumpkinhead's blog and then remembered that the avatars of many posters on the HMS Harmony forums had very similar pictures of Harry and Hermione as portrayed by the actors. I now find myself asking this wierd but plausible question:
What if it's NOT Harry and Hermione that the shippers are shipping AT ALL? What if, in fact, they are actually psychologically shipping DANIEL RADCLIFFE AND EMMA WATSON?!
If this is the case, then this explains an awful lot. The fact that the image of Dan and Emma is probably the most common one found in the avatars of militant Harmony shippers, the fact that Harmony shippers seem to refuse to give more CANON Harmony evidence, the fact that Bonnie Wright (the actress who plays Ginny) is getting flak because apparently "it's going to look silly when she's there kissing Dan", the fact that such a frequent saying used by supposed Harry/Hermione shippers is that "Dan and Emma will look cute together".
Guys, I don't think we're dealing with Harry/Hermione shippers here. What we've got on our hands here, I do believe, are militant Dan/Emma shippers.
It might not be true, but it's certainly possible.

yeah, i'm like addicted to reading, so when i'm not constantly reading HP (pretty rare) i'm on my two favorite sites, mugglenet and fictionpress, where i can read to my heart's content. my friend actually told me about fictionpress, and she told me about a bunch of stories that she had already read and thought were good two, so i'll tell them to you too. "Life is Beautiful" under "romance" is good too, but a lot of it has language, and some scenes aren't very appropriate. but the authore is a genius, cuz she always has something new and interesting (not necessarilly bad) to write about. "Finding Faeries" is good too if you really like faeries (like me) but i think False Facades" is my fav so far, it made me lol all the time, and the authore is really good also.
kuro, go to fictionpress.com, go to "search" at the top of the site, and type in "False Facades" as the title of a story to read. fictionpress is a site where anyone can write stories (fiction ones, of course) and instead of having them published, they post them on the internet for anyone to read. some of the stories are really good, and there are so many genres.
i know that was REALLY off the subject, but that story and a bunch of others have scenes that you seem to be looking for, plus they're very good stories to read just for entertainment.

no offense towards ur wishful thinking, cho, but i don't think ron's sensitive enough (YET) to have thought to say things like that to poor, distressed hermione. this is hope for hime, though, as he's finally starting to mature and might even be boyfriend worthy by book seven. or should be, anyway, since it's the last book. speaking of which, jkr better not leave us hanging at the end of book seven, or there will be a lot more angry people than there just is now for feeble HR/R romance.
My fav would be one of these "accident" scences where they get in contact just by mistake with blushing and, yeah, you know ^^. Those scences where, for example, one falls on another or they're touching the same thing the same time and touching themselfes then.. I know, I know, I am old-fashioned.
Okay, calling Lavender names won't be helpful as for now. I never noticed her anyway before the whole deal with Ron happened. I wished Ron had at least when the stroking scene happened said something nice as "I know.", "I am here." or whatever.
i know, the teensy bits of romance should be really good, cuz there's all kinds of people reading the books, and all kinds of people like different genres of books. i, for instance, like modern fantasies like hp and princess diaries and eragon. they all have characters who live in fantasy worlds, just w/ modern teen minds. i also like teen romances, but fantasies are my fav.
I know it's not a romance book, but if JKR want to put romance in it, she should put real and good romance in it, and not that semi-romance! My opinion!

harry and ginny didn't get any good romance scenes, i mean, that one in the common room was too simple, and after that nothing really ever happened.
but i thought ron "stroking hermione's hiar while she cried" at the end of the book was still pretty sweet of him. ('bout time, too)

i agree w/ kuro69, how could you call ron and lavender "dating"?? it was just stupid hormones and jealousy. and lavender was just the first person that had ever liked ron (besides hermione, obviously), so i don't think ron really thought about the situation he was getting into b/c he had never dated anyone before, so he had no experience and therefore wasn't smart enough to know that it wouldn't work out. anyone understand what i just said?

If you ask me, it had been more interesting to have a girl just interested in Ron and Ron not noticing it and Hermione going crazy about that girl or so. Why did they need to be together as a couple ? There was no need for that, I really felt sorry for Hermione to see Ron being cozy with Lavender ! MOAH !

I disliked the Ron/Lavender relationship (if you could call that one) absolutely. Not just because of the fact that I am a rabid Hr/R shipper, it was just annoying the way she showd us all this love stuff, well, if you could call that "love". I understand that Ron was angry about Hermione snogging Krum, but was it really neccessary to date Lavender just because of revenge ? I don't think so !
I don't know though. Then what about Tonks? There'd be no happy ending with her. She was sad enough when Lupin was alive and he wouldn't date her. She'd probably blow her brains out if he died. It's probably just a coinciedence.
That seems highly unlikely. Wormtail would have to squeeze him to death or something, and I doubta a Lupin in werewolf mode (even if he took his potion) would allow that to happen.
