i defently think that underage sex should be legal because at the ebd of the day, people have sex weather its legal or not and some children only have sex because they knoe its illegal and thats why they do it to be "rebels" so if they make it legal then they may not do it
im 14 and have a boyfrind that is nearly 16. i love him to bits hes brilliant but i am perfectly capable of making my own decition to when i am ready to have sex. i dont think the law should attempt to prevent undresge sex because it doesnt stop people. i know tons of people that have had sex. i choose not to have sex for the moment because my age is to young but i still think that should be up to me not the fucking parliment!!!

I do NOT NOT NOT support this petition. Young people are not informed enough to make that decision. They don't know about using contraception. They could catch a disease! Haven't you seen the damage HIV/AIDS is doing in Malawi? Everyone with AIDS dies withiin a few years of getting it. Also, more teenagers would be getting pregnant if the age of consent was lowered. More people would be dropping out of school to take care of the babies. And also, children under sixteen would be more exposed to being emotionally hurt. They should enjoy their childhood because it is the only one they will ever have. If they have sex too early, they could mature too fast, and that is unhealthy. They should be mature enough to make sensible descisions about contraception and whether or not they want to have sex before they do it. I'm not saying it should be saved for marriage. It's just that you should be at least sixteen before you get into that sort of thing. Then you are old enough to make the right descisions. And also, if it were lowered, I think it would make young teenage girls (like, 13-15) more exposed to rape, as if it was legal to have sex at those ages, people might not believe them, saying it was consensual and to stop telling lies. And people under sixteen who signed this, stop and think about what you are doing before you go ahead and do it.
because education is better than ignorance. Children should be taught be everything from contraception to how to bring up a child. You are not going to jail two 12 yr olds for experimenting, but if they know and understand the consequences they might experiment safely, so less chance of pregnancy and disease. It's not about wanting to screw everything that moves, and sex without consent will always be rape. We teach each other how to cross the road safely so we don't die on the road. Sex and babies and everything that comes with it is far more important.
