Being a marine wife I know the importance of dress blues. As I watched the news today and saw that a new marine was denied wearing his dress uniform to his graduation I was shocked. This boy graduated from high school early to go to boot camp and serve his country. No matter if he is going to Iraq or just helping in the states this marine is very proud of his uniform as he should be from his 13 weeks of training. This boy is not a normal civilian he is a marine and at that a very proud marine! I ask you, if you do understand the meaning, importance, and hardship please sign this petition to let him wear his blues!

Military members should be given an exemption to wear their highest uniform to their graduation.

I support this petition. I was in the Navy and my husband a Marine. Marine's have rightful pride in what they do. He should be able to wear it to his graduation, he'd be the best dressed and it says something for his love of our country.

This is just WRONG. My bf is in the military and I'll tell you what. No matter what branch of the service, that man is doing something great for his country in a time where people DON'T support ANYTHING anymore. SO LET HIM SHOW HIS PRIDE!

I understand that public schools have recently taken issue with military involvement on campus, but this boy is a marine and should not be denied the opportunity to wear his hard-earned uniform. Allowing him to wear the uniform does not in any way show that the school endorses the miliarty. It only allows the student to represent an individual choice that he has made to represent his country. Denying this boy the opportunity to wear his uniform goes beyond neutrality. It is an outright condemnation of the military that is wholly improper and downright shameful.
