We, the user community of Phantasy Star Online, want to be able to use legally obtained copies of Phantasy Star Online, including and limited to v1/v2 for Dreamcast, Episode 1 & 2/Plus and Episode 3 for Gamecube and Phantasy Star Online for PC, to connect to any server to be specified by the USER.

The current End-User Agreement reads like so:
1) In order to gain access to the Online Mode, the User needs to connect to the online game server specified
by SEGA ("PSO Server") via the Internet.

We would like it to read like so:
1) In order to gain access to the Online Mode, the User may connect to the online game server specified by
the User ("PSO Server") via the Internet.

Included should be addenda that absolve SEGA of responcibility of any situation or circumstance arising from the use of a their software while connected to a User specified server or after having accepted this agreement.
SEGA would provide NO SUPPORT (including damages, replacement or any other claims that would have been previously addressed by SEGA) for the User upon accepting this new agreement, regardless of Offline or Online status.
This new End-User Agreement would now supercede all previous arrangements for those who have accepted it regardless of what may still be in print elsewhere.

The user specified server's administration would have to address issues as they see fit without support from SEGA, and the user must comply with the user specified server's rules and regulations in regards to cheating and interaction with other users or any lack thereof; SEGA would no longer be able to assist the User and that responcibility belongs solely to the user specified server.

Users of software other than that specified in this petition would not be elligible for this new agreement at this time.
Excluded products from SEGA would include Phantasy Star Online for XBOX (Governed by Microsoft's XBoxLive terms of service) and Phantasy Star Online Blue Burst for PC (may change at SEGA's descretion).

29 4 Apr 2008 - 9:50    ryan ford : there is still a cult following, a lot of users would still pay to run servers, or be charged to keep offical servers running. bring back the servers, do it for the gamers.

22 14 Nov 2007 - 21:40    Meg AKA Draculana : it's not fair that Sega shut down the online mode function for the dreamcast and other console versions of these games I'm also an avid player of PSO as well and I never got to try the online thanks to Sega shutting it down without caring about what the people thought of it but anyway I support this petition with everything I've got I don't have the other versions of this game just the ones that are for Dreamcast I still mad about them doing this and before Sega even did this I was telling my mom about the online mode for this game and how it would be perfect for me since I love using the computer and connecting to the internet while making friends a lot that I still wish the online mode wasn't gone. bye bye for now!
21 13 Nov 2007 - 20:27    Ayla : I spent more than 700 hours in that game. I met so much nice people. Please, do it for us !
20 13 Nov 2007 - 18:15    Scott Bolton : I totally support this, sega could have microsoft redirect people playing pso to the schthack server after authentication and they can still keep their hunter's liscence running. that way the server is in the dedicated users hands and sega is still getting their money.
19 13 Nov 2007 - 8:20    Testament/Seven7 : Let the community decide pso's future by keeping it alive.

14 8 Nov 2007 - 13:13    Fennec : This step will definitely win some brownie points for SEGA / ST with existing and new customers... Take Nintendo as an example - they have supported NES for 24 years :o)
13 8 Nov 2007 - 7:41    þ§éüÐø·þrø×éñ : Although Copyrights last 70 years on products, but it would be nice if they allowed the Fair-Use (Copyrighted Works Without Infringement ) section of the Copyright Law. But as well give Permission the use of other servers for these titles, since these publications are nonexistent for support.

2 5 Nov 2007 - 18:37    pat Cantu : YES, it is officially been set aside by sega and treated as a discontinued product, It is my all time favorite game and the human element is the most priceless part. Please leave this open source for users to play, we are a large community and those of who who care are loyal and faithful to buying sega/sammy products
