I think it is pathetic that all these immature children are using this petition as a joke. Has our vocabulary as Americans become so tiny that we can't think of another word to use besides using the Lord's name in vain. I agree with the person who said we need to pray for the people using it in vain. I pray that the reason they do is because they are ignorant to the pain it causes Jesus, not becuase they are trying to hurt him on purpose. My husband and I change the channel or walk out of a movie the second the Lord's name is taken in vain. I am scared for the day my little girl comes home and says

because I would like to be able to go to the movies without having to leave in the middle due to being offended. I would love to take my sons to the movies, but often the only offensive item in the whole movie is the Lord's name in vain. Why ruin a perfectly good movie for many families? P.S. There are some people who have made entries here that I feel very sorry for. Why must you be so offensive towards God? Are you scared, threatened, or is it possible that you are really that ignorant. You have nothing to gain by not believing in God, but everything to lose. Just looking at the belief in God as a gamble, it is simply NOT a smart bet to speak or think the way you do. I wish you the best.

I support this petition. It makes me sad that so many people think they are better than God. And the worst of all is that God still loves you so much and anytime you go to Him he'll forgive you. You do not know how amazing it is to experience the love of Jesus. I started crying when I did. You think you spite the Lord when you use His Name in vain but in the end you'll see...You're only spiting yourself. You don't know what the word "love" means because you're too caugth up in what people will think about you... This makes me so sad... Anybody reading this that's a believer...please start praying for these people immediately.
