Vincent K. McMahon Jr. was born in Pinehurst, North Carolina, on August 24, 1945, but was raised in Greenwich, Connecticut. Raised mostly by his mother, McMahon could not claim a good childhood while living with his mother and many stepfathers in a trailer. Finally, at the age of 12, McMahon met his biological father, Vincent James McMahon Senior. Now under McMahon Jr.'s management the company went on to become the World Wrestling Federation (it was first known as the World Wide Wrestling Federation). While the Capitol Wrestling Corporation served a local, regional audience, McMahon Jr. set out to give the Federation broad appeal and a wider audience. After creating such wrestling stars such as Hulk Hogan and Macho Man, McMahon used the idea of charging audiences to assemble in an arena and watch wrestling matches on a large screen (in the pre-Pay-Per-View days), the first of which was 1985's Wrestlemania. After Wrestlemania III (Wrestlemania became an annual ev
