These amazing cahracters of our beloved games of the past and today definately deservge aspot o nthe hollywood walk of fame. Videgames are a definate art form , just like music and films . Mario Donkey Kong , and Link all deserver their respective place on the hollywood walk of fame.Sonic the hedgehog wood also be an excellant candidate. Please hear the plead of gamers everywhere allow them to be immortalized forever.
Video games stars have earned this right just like actors and singers, and many others, video games have shaped the lives of many people in a way that no movie or television show could ever. The stars of games deserve a spot nex to our real-world stars. all heroes, stand united as one..........
I think this is one of the greatest petitions ever. I think that Mario deserves a star because of his greatness, but my final vote says that Link is the all time greatest nintendo character ever.
There is no greater series than that of the one surrounding the Legend of Zelda. Link definitely deserves a place in the Hall of Fame. (If you include a statue of him, make sure not to forget his three traditional weapons - the Boomerang, his Bow, and the Master Sword :) They are as much a part of Link as his adventures are.)
Ive been playing VG since, ohhhh say i was 2, back in 86, nearly 2 decades of gaming, ive played with at least a hundred thousand different people online, formed friendships with some that traveled into the physical world.
Video Game stars should get so much more recognition than they do, without a doubt. They definitely deserve to be recognized in a favorite interactive stars category. I personally prefer many video games to movies and TV shows because they're interactive.
Video games have become as much a part of our lives as television, movies, and music have been. Link, Mario, and other such stars of gamehood deserve recognition for their contributions to our recreation!
I must say that video games should get their respect. I've been playing them since I was 8 and they are just as good, if not better, than any movie I could watch.
I think the video game industry has proved itself time and time again that it deserves its own area for its own stars like Mario, Donkey Kong, Link, the Master Chief, and many many more! So I say lets give them what they deserve! There own place in the Hollywood Walk of Fame!
Defenetly, not only did the gaming industry entertain millions of people over years, but it has also been a significant inspiration over various domains, including the movie industry.
The virtual characters inspire as much as many great actors or signers. And you see them just as much in advertisement for either events or charitable causes. Even Hollywood can't deny that. I know I can't.
Mario, Link, and Donkey Kong have existed for ages compared to some to the actors that they have on the walk of fame. They have provided millions of people world wide with the kind of entertainment that no movie could ever give. There's no doubt in my mind that if this movement had started earlier Mario would have already been on the walk of fame, and he well deserves it, probably more than half of the actors that are already there.
The landscape of the entertainment industry has changed dramatically with the rise of home video gaming systems. Today, as video game characters cross into cinema and big-budget movies become video games, it is more and more evident that the line between video games and movies is thinning. New technology allows for complex composition, cinematography, and musical scores that parallel modern cinema. I think it is time for Video Games to be recognized as an international entertainment medium, and the Hollywood Walk of Fame is a perfect place to make such a recognition.
Mario deserves a recognition like this, but he isn't alone. Link from "The Legend of Zelda" deserves the honors also, both gaming series have revolutionized the way games are made and played.
YES - video game characters should be on the walk of fame.
Popular characters like Mario, Donkey Kong and Link have endured the test of time - and have provided me and many others with counteless hours of entertainment, and fun! Video gaming is now embedded into our everyday culture - witness the massive Halo 2 launch for evidence of this.
Video gaming is here to stay. It makes more $ then movies, stage and radio, and it appeals to people in EVERY SINGLE DEMOGRAPHIC Hollywood has a classification for! Look it up, it's a fact!
Video game characters on the walk of fame? Abou time!
Of course they video games should be on the Hollywood Walk of Fame! Video games has been part of our lives and they should get the respect they deserve and they should be rewarded..u kno..think wut i just sed wasnt right..but its true...they should be on the Hollywood Walk of Fame...and one more thing...GO LEGEND OF ZELDA!
Yea, why not?
Video games are a part of everyday life these days, it only makes sence that the stars of them get their place on a famous piece of sidewalk XD
I think that this is a great idea. It would not only bridge the gap between hollywood and games but it would hopefuly encourage game compenies to do better, to serpass the icons of today.
Gaming has been just as much a part of our lives as movies and television. Video game characters, music and creators are known world wide. It's time the got the recognition they deserve.
the walk of fame is designed to honor personalities that hav in some significant way influenced the public. You can't undermine the importance that video games have had in our society and that should be recognized.
well all I have to say is i'm glad someone thought to do this it will be great to finely reconize or vidoe game heros in this way.The nex thing we need to do is honor there men and woman that desined them.
It's about time! Bugs Bunny has one, Godzilla has one .. Mario should, too! He IS a star, and it would pay homage to his creator, Shigeru Miyamoto - who has his star on the Walk of Game in San Fran.
It isn't hard to beleive that interactive mediums such as video games are big business, the video game supposedly surpassed the monetary value of the movie as early as 1997. Whilst there is still some debate on the value of games as art, solidifying the image of games as a valued medium by making them an addition to the walk of fame will encourage more diverse and unique games are given funding to develop. After all, there was a time within the lifetime of some people alive today where the moving picture was considered the passtime of children and the frivolous.
