Mario is the most recognised male in the world (surpassing harrison ford who used to be) If Ford is on the walk of fame mario definately should be, as well as other icons of the interactive entertainment industry.
I really hope they make a spot for the video game industry its just as much media entertainment as going to a movie and Nintendo should definatly get its name on that walk of fame!!!

The world has always looked down on gamers as nerds. If Mario get's his spot, it'll prove to the world Video Games are just as important as Movies, let alone better (Movies-2 to 3 hours of enjoyment, adverage Video Game-10 to 100 hours, or even indefinite in some cases)
That this is even being proposed is a huge indication of how fully video games are being impraced by mainstream culture. I think the next generation may laugh when we tell them there was a time when video games were not widely appreciated.
Mario (and many other video game characters) have been entertaining millions of people for decades. Its time for them to be recognized like many other great entertainers have been.
Mario has been everywhere and has done everything. I grew up with Mario. He deserves this chance to be recognized. This year is his 20th anniversary. 1985-2005 and I hope for more wonderful years to come...
Gameing has become so big over the years. I have grown up with the industry. I wish other people would just give in and let this happen. If the old people in charge of this now stop it, it is only a matter of time before someone young allows it to happen because it's something they understand and can appreciate.
I think something like this should happen, but perhaps real people related to interactive entertainment as well, honoring fictional characters alone seems very hokey. Hopefully if this goes through though the comitees that be will adjust it accordingly.
Mario is more memorable than any hollywood character or actor that comes to mind... He deserves to be there just as much as Mickey Mouse (who I assume is there).
Video games deserve their own section in then "walk of fame" thinking of characters like Link, Mario, or even Crono. They deserve recognition and they should be given it.
I would like to Video Game Characters on the walk of fame, as they have as much, if not more, star power as hollywood celebs. Game Production has large budgets now to produce a self-inclusionary movie, you control the "actor" or "actress" in the movie, just as a director would in a real life movie, so in a sense, the gamer is sitting in the director's chair, and if the real life actor gets a star, so should a video game character
The walk of fame is for those who have entertained millions and are fondly remembered for their remarkable achievements. By this logic, leaving many video game icons - Mario included - is prejudism against an ever-popular, growing, and viable entertainment option. Iconic characters of all entertainment - as well as great video game minds and creators - deserve to be on the walk of fame as much as many of the actors which appear there now simply by the entertainment value which they have provided
Too many famous people have stars for one famous role they portrayed when a lot of their other movies or pieces of work werent good. Mario has been consistenly excellent for over 20 years, its time to recognize this!
Celebrity video game icons are every bit as necessary as any theatre or other art celebrity. They exist whether the powers that be believe it or not. Just look at the numbers, it's clear that video game stars have just as loyal a following and deserve to be recognized and remembered for the effect they've had on the lives of the people who choose to entertain themselves through this specific medium.
Mario is one of the best video game characters of all time and deserves this honor. Furthermore, many other game characters have been put through enough that they too should get a chance at this spotlight! We need Link from Zelda on that walk as well!
It's about time, Nintendo and its legendary franchises become recognized. I hope Hollywood agrees to this proposition. And if I see Halo or Masterchief even nominated for a Hollywood Star..lets just says, he does not deserve it yet. Leave it to Mario, DK, Link, Sonic, and Pac-Man.
The first video game I ever got was The Super Mario bros. and I still hold playing that game during Christmas as one of my most cherished memories growing up. But that's not the last of the good memories that the house of Nintendo has brought me throughout the years. Mario, Link and Samus deserve their places among the stars as much as any celebrity.
mario is a key part of entertainment today, and he has even starred in his own movie! if this doesnt deserve a star on the walk, then seriously... who does?!?!?
