Mario should definantly be on the walk of fame because he has entertained as many if not more people then the entertainers already there. Also he has brought countless hours of entertainment to a great amount of those same stars.....Dubal-E
The hollywood walk of fame should be like its namesake. It is understandable that 20 years ago, before great recognisable videogame charaters came about, the main focus would be on movies and movie stars. However lately the videogame industry is set to overtake the movie industry. Also there are videogame heros that have entertained the public for decades. I think that they deserve their due. I would personally nominate Mario and Link....but it this fails maybe Nintendo should star a videogame walk of fame around the nintendo of america building.
This is one of the most brilliant ideas of the year so far. I've always respected and admired video game developers and designers, but the original creators of concepts hold a special place in my heart, as well as the creations. Shigeru Miyamoto. Super Mario. People who have inspired me so much through the ages. Mario stated that he spent his life chasing stars. I think it's time we finally gave him one for keeps.
Mario deserves to be there, he is an ENTERTAINMENT ICON. Video games have become so intregrated in our culture, and we devote time to them, they they should be counted as a form of entertainment. With an industry right up there with cinema, Games/Game Characters/and Game Designers/Creators/publis hers should also be recognized for their work. You've given lesser "celebrites" their star, lets make it right and honor Mario!
I've always been a supporter in whatever Mario sets out to accomplish. He's saved princesses, slayed demons, and always looks out for other's. Mario is a true hero, and a true star. I think he should have star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
Video Games are awesome and require the appropriate amount of consideration that other forms of entertainment have been receiving for years apon years.
Since Mario wasn't able to get on the Walk of Fame through his movie back in 1993, it's only fare he gets a second chance through doing what he does best, starring in video games!
About time Mario got his place on the Walk of Fame. Among many other occupations (The guy slays demonic dragons and rescues his true love from giant boobytrapped castles for Nayru's sake), the man's just like you and me. Video game characters really aren't that different from you and I. Let's look at the facts. Mario's a hardworking plumber trying to make a living in this world of ours and his too. The man emigrated from Italy to America in the mid seventies, and forged a living as a carpenter. Then in the eighties, when some anal gorilla came along and snatched his girly, he took action, fought the beast, and emerged the victor. For that feat alone he should have been on the Walk of Fame over two decades ago. Moreso, after the DK incident, on top of the carpenter life Mario picked up other trades as well, juggling jobs to become a plumber, kart racer, golfer, tennis player, basketball player, dancer, and most obvious of all, superhero. In the twenty years-plus that he's lived here, Mario has come far, and certainly much farther than Hollywood if they'll be so stubborn as to forbid a legend like Mario from attaining his star on the Walk of Fame. Italian Pride Eternal.
Mario is an icon recognized around the world, just as much so, if not more, than any movie star. Many people have laughed and cried as they watched, and participated in, his exploits. If anyone ever deserved a star, it's Mario.
Mario was the first game i ever played. If it were not for him in pioneering the gaming industry it would now be where it is today. Stars honored on the walk of fame have been recognized for pioneering achievements in the entertainment industry. Mario is no different, he well deserves a star.
Gotta have it man...it's important since the video game industry is so rapidly overtaking the movie industry in sales. I think it would be very apropriat to have video game characters and/or its creators on the walk of fame.
WAKE UP HOLLYWOOD! To put it bluntly, there's a majority of video games that have out sold & out done some Box Office Smash Hit movies. Does Legend of Zelda sound familiar. What 'bout all those games becoming movies, Super Mario Bros., Doom, RESIDENT EVIL, hint hint. Go NINTENDO!
Carpenter's Plissken loves Kojima's Snake.
Link was doing his thing longer before LotR came around.
Metroid has a freaking Boss named after Alien's screenwritter.
See the pattern here, bub?
