Mario changed the face of videogaming and made it what it is today. The videogame industry is now as profitable as the movie industry and as such, deserves recognition!
I am a person who's life of a couch potato was won over by video games. I spent hours actually thinking in a classic Mario game. These games can also be used in other things, things like education.Yes, education. A few years back, some schools were using Playstation disk for homework, allowing people to ENJOY homework. Games are not a hobby to me, but a passion. I am sure this applies to others much like me.
If you look up the word "Icon" in the dictionary, you would definetly find a picture of Mario in it. Mario is to video games like S. Spielberg is to movies. Mario represents a constant evolution for video games and entertainment in general. Mario is an achivement of the 20th century and will endure the test of time.
If Britney Spears can get a star on the walk of fame for selling smut to young girls, Mario should get a star for teaching the WORLD how to kill a oversized lizard that stole your girlfriend!
As many others, I don`t see why video game characters, some times better recognized than the very actors that "populate" the walk of fame, shouldn`t have their place over there.
Mario deserves a star on the Walk of Fame because without Mario, videogames would have been a thing from the past. Nintendo came to revolutionize the industry with Mario at the helm. Please grant Mario the honor of being inducted in the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
Video game industry produces just as much or even more money than the movie industry. I believe this is a good idea and an even better idea to have the creator of mario, shiggy, on there instead.
Mario is the pinnacle of video game characters, he's a god damn plumber that rescues a hot princess, let this guy in......talk about innovation and influencing the video gaming industry. boo yah
