Video Games are the as viewed and as important a media as film and television. Those who achieve greatness should not be denied. Also add to the list The Entire Belmont Clan.
WHy shouldn't he be there? He and other characters or voice actors for games should go on there. For example, whoever does the voice for Kortana from halo or the guy that does master chief.
While I completely agree that the video game industry deserves recognition in this way, I don't see why it is characters who should be getting the honor. The other entertainment industries recognize the individuals who create their media, why should video games be any different? Instead of honoring Mario, we should recognize Miyamoto...
Mario is an icon for not just my generation, but for those to follow as well. He is a long standing cultural milestone, and will always be remembered. He has been more influential than many movie stars out there and deserves his place among the stars.
Do they plan to put Mario's feet into concrete and then throw him into the water like for most famous Italian-Americans ? I hope no. Let him and the other Nintendo stars tread and stomp on the Fame !
I had never thought about a game character having a star. But it make good sense. The hollywood movie pool would be so generic without the likes of Resident evil, Hellboy, The Matrix, even the Mario Bros.movie ( even though it bombed). Good Luck.
We absolutely need a walk of fame for videogames, and along with the character created perhaps the developer should be there aswell, yet this raises the question for games like grand theft auto, who does not exactly have a recognisable protagonist as the star is ever changing also be given a star? Personally i think not :P
But you should also put to your walk of Fame Sam Fischer and The Prince of persia from sand of time!! i know who did them and i can tell you that they are ten times better then Solid Snake!!

With video games being such a huge industry, I would think that a walk of fame would be already in the works, or at least a decent hall of fame, not just limited to characters, but also individual games
Mario signifies an important leap in technology, and one of the first truly accessible foundations for a medium that has become extremely profitable and rewarding. Nintendo has furthered creativity with Mario and thus he should be credited somehow. It'd be fun.
