The walk of fame stars should be as follows:
Nintendo- Mario
Sega- Sonic
Sony-Crash Bandicoot
X-Box- Master Chief
it would be kool also to have a walk of fame for the sidekicks like luigi for mario and or tails for sonic, if were gona have a walk of fame we should have it for lots of video games stars! mario is one of the best but is not the only one :)
i think the video game industry is an important industry to many people, and thus i hope many people continue to sign this petition and shine some of the video games stars of time
The Games industry is a multi billion pound one, and some games have more of a plot than some hollywood blockbusters! its about time that the creators of these games were recognised as being equal to the creators of films.
Why shouldn't videogame characters be able to be put on the walk of fame? The creators themselves usually work on videogames for a longer time than it takes to make a movie, so they should be recognized as well. Movies and videogames are both forms of high entertainment.
I think video games have the right to be honored too. They have been around longer then some of the movie stars. Isn't that reason enough? Mario and Link deserve a few stars for all their hard work. Saving princesses isn't easy!
Heck yeah! Video game characters can die like movie stars, get the girl like movie stars, and have even become characters for movies(Resident Evil, I'm looking at you). So yeah. About time!
Of course Mario should get his own spot! Video games have impacted my life far more than movies ever will. But I must say that I like Luigi more. VIVE LUIGI!
For years I have played the games with these characters, and for years I have watched them evolve to better fit the new generation. If it is not true idols and Heros that have touched the hearts of millions that are on this side walk.. then what are they? People who are in it just for the money and not for the moral? Let the Game Stars have a chance, let their names that are already carved in the hearts of millions, be carved in the streets of Hollywood.
A star for Mario, while in itself a somewhat ironic self-reference, would show the world something that we've always been afraid to do: to acknowledge entertainment as forward-moving. Before cinema's golden era, it was shunned as entertainment and saw fit for newsreels. Television was the same; shunned by moviegoers as comic and light. Fast forward to the dawn of Video Games and The Internet. Still looked down upon by many, this is a chance for the old to help out the young - for the aged star of Hollywood to lift the bright spark of Gaming, symbolised by none other than it's most recognised patron: Mario.
