Face it, video games play a role in every-day life. Without Mario or Donkey Kong, or just the Gaming Industry in general, things would be A LOT different. Famous movie stars will come and go, but video game characters will follow generation after generation and truly hold a place in our hearts forever. They deserve their recognition as a part of our culture today, so I say give them all the stars they need.
The only characters worthy of a spot on the walk of fame are Pac Man, Donkey Kong, Mario, Link, Sonic, and Megaman. No other characters can match the longevity and franchise-player status that these characters have within their genre of entertainment.
Video game characters are stars too! Imagine, where would the Super Mario Bros. movie be without the game? Or the Tomb Raider movies? Let's face it, video games are having a larger impact on the movie industry nowadays.
I think that the real stars, who changed our lives, is the ones which we could play with and, actually, whois best: Leonardo di Caprio or Link, Mario and Donkey kong?
it's a good idea but the thing is theres so many top video game chars theres only room for widely known ones like Sonic, Dk,Mario,Luigi and Pacman things like that anyone agree
also the charactor artists like Tetsuya Nomura who made the FF chars

I believe that it would definitely be worthwhile, adding an "Interactive" category to the Walk... so many gaming characters are as well-known, if not moreso, than some flesh-and-blood celebrities. Mario, Link, Sonic, Lara Croft, Solid Snake, Cloud Strife... all these are well-known and famous names, and deserve recognition. Not only them, but the creators behind those great names... Shigeru Miyamoto, Hideo Kojima,Hironobu Sakaguchi, Nobuo Uematsu, and many, many others. But, first and foremost, we should give the first honor to a certain humble Italian plumber from Brooklyn. Give Mario the first star.
Mario should be in the Walk of Fame!!! Kirby, Captain Falcon, Sonic, Solid Snake, Dante from Devil May Cry, Ash & Pikachu and, the most important, LINK!!!! Of course, Zelda would be there too...
The fact that there are video games that are tied into the movie industry,it would be a slap in the face if they did not add this category to the Walk of Fame!
I think Mario and all Nintendo cvharacters deserve this because they have intertained us since 1985 and will keep intertainig us. Mario is well known by the public and is well known by little kids and asult. Nintendo and Mario deserve this.
Most Definatly! A good game has the same potential as far as hardworking people, ideas, Innovation, and creativity to entertain the people. Video Good Video games are an art form. Donkey Kong, Mario, Link, Samus Aran, Fox McCloud, Mega Man, Cloud, Wario, Leon S. Kennedy, Albert Wesker, Simon Belmont, Sonic, Earthworm Jim, Master Chief... The List can go on. And not just characters either, Directors as well Like Shigiru Miyamoto, etc.

Characters such as Mario and Zelda are common denominators that appeal to the best in the human being : courage trough adversity and purity of means and spirit.
They are icons of what an heroïc ideal is.
Mario is a national icon. If you ask anyone who mario is... you will know! Mario made the world of gaming, he is an icon to all the other game characters.
It would be great to include the masterminds behind games like Mr. Miyamoto as Tommy Tallarico suggests, but I should still very much like to see Mario, Link, and others as they're the ones most players would actually recognize.
For years, i've been sayin dat zelda and link deserve a spotlight, and a movie as well. I once saw a ray of hope when it said on comingsoon.net that they were discussing zelda movie rights back in 2003. My question is do they plan to make a zelda at all or even think about it? cause i dont even feel like goin into da many details dats been goin around da internet about it
Great idea although the developers/designers should be the ones with the stars. George Lucas has a star NOT Chewbacca. Miyamoto should be the one who gets a star. Some characters like Bugs Bunny & Mickey Mouse HAVE gotten their stars but not before their creators. I want to see a star for Will Wright NOT The Sims.
Video games are quickly out pacing radio as the medium for new music releases. EA brings new music to the world with each release of Madden. The Multi Million dollar gaming industry should be represented in Hollywood. Support Nintendo, Sony, Microsoft and company!
Not many people even watch TV as much as they did before. Internet and videogames have taken over! Videogames is now a mainstream form of entertainment and it's importance should be correspondant to it's honors.
Videogames are hardly the underground hobby they used to be. They are a very viable form of entertainment, and this generation of youth recognizes Mario more than Mickey Mouse - something to think about. Give Mario and more importantly, Luigi, the respect they deserve!
Games are becoming more and more complex, so they are a representation of technological progress - might as well have somewhere to remember them and their heroes. :)
