Goal Met!
Siamese Fighting Fish (Betta Splendens) are beautiful and intelligent fish. Due to their nature, they must be kept separate from each other.

Wal Mart sells Betta fish. However, the conditions the fish are kept in is disgusting and unethical.

Betta are kept in small containers containing less than 200ml of water. The "cups" are hardly ever cleaned, and the Bettas are not fed nearly enough.

As a result, the Betta fish are often starved and diseased. They cannot move in their containers, and the ammonia caused by rotting food and excrement causes the Bettas to lie lifelessly in their tanks.

Walmart employees do not know how to care for these beautiful fish.
These Bettas do not deserve to be kept in these conditions.

Should Walmart continue to sell these Betta fish, they must keep them in regularly cleaned containers which contain more than 250 ml of water. Fish must be fed twice per day, as any less will result in their starvation.

Please help me in achieving this goal.

I support this petition. I have \'rescued\' bettas from Walmart, only to have them die within a few days.
