I think this is really sad. They take away everything that helps us
low-income families. Layaway is how I purchase my childrens school clothes
and supplies, birthday presents, and christmas. I dont have credit cards
and live from paycheck to paycheck. It is not fair. Pls rethink this
decision. |

Wal*Mart has a way with moving in and taking over then stop carrying an
item that you have had to get used to, in this case they have just stopped
caring. If we wanted to shop at Target we would drive to Target. |

I think Wal-Mart is doing it's customers a disservice that is very
valuable and is the main reason I shop there. Kmart here I come. I think
Wal- Mart is squeezing us lower income people out and trying bring in a
higher income bracet of customers. Well I guess their own emploees will be
screwed too since they are some of the LOWEST PAID people. They don't
care that their own people cant even make it on what they get paid so why
would we think they care about the lower income people. After all to them,
it's all about the benjamins, and that's all folks! |

I want to shop at Wal Mart because it has been so positive in an economic
sense for the middle and lower class of people and for those in rural
America.....but recent policy changes....especially this one....is a severe
detriment to those people that Wal Mart used to put them in the position
that it is today.....All you have to do is look at the chains that expired
with credit....Montgomery Wards, K-Mart, Service Merchandise, etc.....If
Wal Mart goes against the people who put Wal Mart where it is today it too
will fall. |

I think this is pretty sorry of Walmart! They wait until Christmas to do
this to people. What about those of us who lost everything in Katrina!
What about those of us who lost our jobs because of Katrina?? How are we
supposed to provide a decent Christmas for our children who don't
understand oh baby I'm sry but santa couldn't come this year
because walmart did away with lay a way! Target doesn't support our
troops so why should we support them! I hope everybody at walmart feels
really big right now for taking Christmas away from deserving little
children! |

I think this is ridiculous, lay away was the only reason I choose walmart

For those of us that can't readily purchase items in full; like the
general public of Americans. This a vaulable tool for to buy things on a

I have used this for 25 plus years due to financial reasons. It will hurt

I personally have used the layaway in the past and feel it would be
detrimental to wal-mart and there goal to put the customers first. Maybe
layaway is down but with the economy in shambles and prices going thru the
roof more and more people in the very near future will be wanting the
layaway option but sadly it won't be there when we are in our time of
need. Credit cards are nice when you can exert control of you spending
habits, but when times are tough and you cannot afford to pay with
cash, well hell just charge it, i did and now have over $2.500 that i owe.
****s believe me. I can afford it though, what about those that find
themselves in similar situations, they charge it because they want to have
as well as the next person, so they charge it, when in the past they could
have started a layaway. Please reconsider your choice to rid the American
public of your layaway program. Think of those who cannot afford not just
the bottom line. Gary. |
