I 100% support this petition. More teens should be aware about this because a lot of my friends won't listen about how harmful Myspace could be when they post their numbers and provocatvie pictures of themselves.
Tomorrow I host a film discussion on Hard Candy for a college Feminist group--I can't remember the last time a saw a film that deserved such an open dialogue for both sexes. Much praise for the cast and crew. EVERYONE should watch Hard Candy!
Excellent film, castration is a scary business. Let it be a warning for rapists, molesters, abusers whatever. If you wrong someone it will come back around.
Watching Hard Candy was an eye-opening experience. I realized that this kind of thing actually happened but this movie definitely put things into perspective. I applaud Ellen Page and those who worked on the film on the message they delivered.
This isn't the kind of thing that parents should shield their children from, but inform them to be A-WARE of...Hard Cady was awesome and asked a lot of important questions that needed to be asked. I for one will be purchasing a red hoodie (: Not planning to castrate anyone though. ANYWHO Let's make a difference!!
Hard Candy was a wakeup call to me - its not only kids that need to play safe; us adults have to remain aware and not cross the lines which already exist in 'face-to-face' situations with young people.
The movie Hardy Candy has become important in highlighting a very real modern, hi-tech threat. Plus it has inspired this movement. This could become one of many movements. Awareness should result in different attitude/ actions to internet usage. This is important as a deterrent to leading to violence/ abuse
but i still believing tha the parents need be aware too and talk with their childrens,in this days i can find hundreds of pages of minors in my space, fotolog with underage girls showing too much,i been molested before but i was very smart for say no,for know the risk, and hundreds of perverts who lives in this world.
laws should be changed to help chidren and teach them the dangers of talking and surfing on line. WE NEED TO BE MORE OPEN-MINDED ABOUT THE SUBJECT - AND NOT TRY TO PUT IT BEHIND CLOSED DOORS!!!
I think that there should not be laws about children being on the web. However, children should be educated about the dangers, and who can view thier information. Hard Candy was a wonderful film showing what should happen to internet preditors.
Many teenagers don't understand the dangers that come along with the internet, add websites such as myspace, friendster and facebook. I don't think websites should be banned but , internet safety precautions should be made.
This is coming from a 16 year old girl :)
i loved the movie i think thats what every pedophile deserves if not a little more as girl who was attacked by a guy she meet on the net i think the movie was very powerful its a movie everyone needs to see
