Uniforms? By a chance you may have them. I hate them. You probably do also. Read and sign and my petition, please, so our union can hopefully eventually stop uniforms altogether.

First and foremost, I would like to say that uniforms eliminate student individuality. With uniforms I'm now seen as a boring person just like everyone else in my school. They are supposed to 'keep students from being made fun of about clothing', but that 'solution' just creates more problems. Kids are now making fun of me because how fat and ugly I look in my tight new uniform. I COULD find anther way to express myself, but I unfortunatley can't. I've tried hair (too frizzy) personality (people think I am loud and annoying) skills (I suck at sports and writing cheesy romance novels is not a subject in our school) among others. Clothes are the thing I do best. It takes skill to make a nice outfit and I'd like to show that off.

Kids wouldn't get made fun of about their clothes if they went out and bought some nice ones at their local Nordstrom. Are you going to say, 'well what if the kid couldn't afford nice clothes'? Well, uniforms actually cost twice as much as it would take to buy a cute outfit from the discount rack. $50 for a uni-skirt, when you could buy a simple tank top for $19. And I haven't even gotten to the thrift stores yet.

Next, I'd like to say that I look absolutley hideos in a uniform. Do you know where they come from? They are picked from an old plant and hastily mass-produced in a factory with no effort whatsoever on how it fits. Donna Karan will never, EVER make uniform pants that I would be terribly greatful to wear. Sadly, some weirdo who never went to design college named Sue Mills is rather happy to. The uniforms are so scratchy and tight with rubber bands. And at our school you have to do presidential fitness in them!

Do you agree? Please put more reasons about why uniforms are not cool at all. Please, join our union and form a force that will wipe out uniforms alltogether. Thanks for your time.
