Canberra viewers are compaing that they dont get many programs on WIN TV that Nine do. So we want to get rid of WIN TV and put in place the Nine Netowrk in Canberra. what do you think?

I do not support his petition. I agree that most people here have too much time on their hands. WIN TV and Nine are virtually identical, especially with the shows people want to watch. Are you able to give examples on what you miss out on? As a result of having WIN News, you are fortunate enough to get a news hour between WIN and Nine, if you were to have your own Channel Nine station you would only get half an hour, and you would probably find most of the material imported from Sydney and stories that would have otherwise been covered by WIN anyway. There simply isn't enough bad news in Canberra alone to produce what greg calls 'real' news. If you took a moment to think about it, WIN Canberra is transmitted in a broadcast zone with a very small population. Also Jason Olive, if you left Canberra to get away from WIN TV you are truly a tool. You can't centre your whole life on TV, and Canberra is a beautiful city with so much to offer.

I think who ever came up with this petition is rather un-intelligent and very misinformed. Obviously you have never stepped foot out side of Canberra, otherwise you would realise the programming is basically identical, hence Win is regionally affiliated with Nine, as Prime is to Seven and Southern Cross to Ten. While we live in Australia's capital city, we are considered a part of regional Australia, whether we like it or not. Personally I am glad that we have the choice of both local and national news, some regions are not so lucky - what would a news a local news service be without local news??? Judging by most of the responses to this topics you all have way too much time on your hands - focus your attention on something a little more important and worthwhile!

Biggest gripe with win is their pathetic tryhard cheapskate attempt at 6pm news. It doesn't have to be all Canberra new only! just put in RELEVANT local news and add national and world news into the local production, be it 30 or 60 mins long. There's no need for non-event crap like blocked stormwater drains, lost dogs and minor car crashes, then have to get the "real" news imported from Sydney. The so called national capital that has to import it's news from Sydney..ha! Same criticism is aimed at Sth X 10 and Prime too.. 10 cutting their old high rating news hour for $$$ was a sham, disgrace and a massive let down for Canberra

I moved away from Canberra to get away from WIN TV and also PRIME TV. Just change them to 9 and 7 let Canberran's know that they live in a great city not a rural backwater it's treated like.
