I can tell you why it's doing poorly here. I can't find it anywhere in my TV listings. One day it's on a Friday, then Wednesday, then THursday. I come on, already. Pick a day and stick it! Don't cancel it after only 3 episodes!!!
This is one of those programs that should be kept around without regard to ratings (I know this notion is naive). A truly eccentric and engaging voice in television.
Why in the world would they do this? Here's a tip: produce quality shows, stand behind them and let them develop an audience, and you will earn viewers. Launch a show midseason, position it poorly, and don't be surprised it isn't a ratings phenomenon.
No show on any network is going to gain and keep an audience after 4 episodes if the show is shuffled around. This show deserves a chance and a solid daypart/time slot.
This show is better than reality TV. I was addicted to the Apprentice, but I skipped it when Wonderfalls moved to Thursday. I want to see those unaired episodes!
A show that treats its viewers like intelligent beings! How was it ever going to get outstanding ratings in just 4 episodes with so many timeslot moves?
Boneheaded moves like this make me wonder whyI ever begin watching new shows at all. And network execs wonder why people aren't watching TV anymore . . .
I really enjoyed this show. This leaves me with only one show left to watch on Fox (Tru Calling), and once that's gone, I don't see myself watching Fox at all. If Fox had treated X-Files the way they've treated Wonderfalls, they'd still be considered an upstart netlet instead of one of the big four.
TV is coming to reality tv. The day of the sitcom and good hour long dramedy are slowly going to the wayside. All we seem to have is crime dramas and reality shows, which gets depressing and old after a while. Please save this show, it has such great potential. I agree that if I didn't like the OC or Tru Calling I would boycott Fox!!!!!
It's smart and devilishly funny. The only reason it did not do well is becuase Fox abandonded it on Friday nights ie, ratings purgatory. Please give this brilliant show a chance.
Wonderfalls is WONDERFUL! Why is it everytime a refreshing and funny show is given a terrible time slot and the network wonders why it doesn't do well!
You've given Arrested Development a whole season's chance to make it, yet you cancel Wonderfalls after only 4 airings? Come on! It's a better quality show that deserves a MUCH better chance to survive!
Wonderfalls was the cleverest tv show since Buffy The Vampire Slayer. It's original, it's brillant, it's funny, and I would love that it stays that way.
S.O.S. - Save our show! Wonderfalls is a breath of fresh air on an otherwise generic lineup of broadcast programming. Give the show a chance and ingnore ratings. Remember, not everone who watches is a Nielsen household.
If I didn't like the OC and Tru Calling, I'd stop watching fox...This is a crying shame. This is such a wonderful show. It's so funny and Jaye is so easy to relate to.
I really sick of all the reality crap that's on tv. Sooner or later that's all that's going to be left...we have to put a stop to this. REALITY TV SUCKS!!!
Wonderfalls is one of the best shows to come along in a long time! I was hooked immediately and that doesn't happen very often with me. Please, Fox, give up on the crappy reality shows & let a quirky, smart show like Wonderfalls stay on the air!!!
Giving up on this show after four episodes and a timeslot change (from Friday to Thursday of all things) is absolutely unforgiveable. To replace this fine, clever, and imaginative drama with yet another makeover show is laughable. Wonderfalls was the best thing on Fox's airwaves. Give it a chance to succeed before pulling the plug.
This is a great show! Please keep it alive - it hasn't been given the chance it deserve to gain an audience. This is smartly written and deserves a good home and reasonable time slot.
As a former NewsCorp employee, I know that the bottom line is never about quality (Forever Eden, anyone?). It figures that you'd cancel the one quirky, smart, engaging show that's currently on the air--all without even giving it a chance to shine. I'm thinking it was perhaps too smart for you and now we all have to suffer.
Just another example of FOX sacrificing quality, smart television (Undeclared) for PURE CRAP (The Littlest Groom, Forever Eden). Wonderfalls is a smart, funny hour of TV that is sorely lacking in TV land. Try believing in a show for once, and giving it a chance (messing around with its time slot isnt the way to do it!)
My So Called Life... Freaks and Geeks...The Family Guy and now Wonderfalls. FOX, I don't think you realize how important this show is for the mid 20's/early 30's demographics. Wonderfalls has obviously captivated and WILL captivate viewers if you give it the right publicity it deserves! Moving it to Thursday was a start. Now why don't you support it properly and then you'll see how special Wonderfalls really is!
You are INSANE!!! I am so tired of GOOD shows getting cancelled for more stupid reality shows and other crap...(remember Freaks and Geeks and My So-Called Life). Bring this one back! PLEASE!!!
Are you people on drugs? This is the best show to premiere in a long time! It's not fair to get us hooked on it and then yank it away. You suck! And by the way, I am sick of all your reality TV! Nothing but DVD's for me from now on!
This show was truly fantastic! It was never given a fair hour for people to watch it. They moved it from a Friday night to Thursday night to go up againt CSI and The Apprentice. What chance did it have? If they put it on at least once with American Idol, millions of more people would have been exposed to it and seen what a great show it truly was. Maybe like Grounded For Life another station will give it a fair chance. I'm gonna really miss this show. It was so funny and unique. It really did put a smile on my face after watching it everytime. FOX sucks!!!
In the last few years seems like I have been signing a lot of petitions to keep my fav. shows on the air. Maybe I am not a "normal' tv viewer. I don't like reality tv and shows like wonderfalls are refreshing a joy to watch. Please give it a chance.
Give this show a chance; it's fresh, original, and entertaining and will fill some of the void left by good quality but departing shows like Angel. Look at the enormous efforts of that fan base, and give Wonderfalls a try.
Why cancel a funny show like Wonderfalls when there's nothing else on at the same time worth watching? All it will do is increase Blockbuster's Friday night sales.
Well, guess were stuck in reality tv oblivion now. Wonderfalls, like Keen Eddie and Futurama actually made it worth turning on Fox. Hopefully, Bravo picks it up like K.E.
This was the first new show in a REALLY long time that I knew I'd be watching for the entire run. I didnt ever think it would get cancelled before the season's major plotlines even started! Not since My So-Called Life has there been such an outrage of a show getting cancelled before it really had it's chance.
It's a FAN favorite. Fox needs to start giving shows a chance, instead of sticking them wherever they fit on the schedule, and throwing the towel in after what, a month?
I WANT TO SEE MORE!
What will all the networks do in 2 years when all their current long running programs become stale and all that is left is another reality series? The current trend of not giving superb quality tv shows the chance they deserve is killing the future of TV viewing. Shows like Wonderfalls and Firefly were canceled because some higher up network employee said these shows are not drawing viewers. Yet Firefly gets released almost a year after its canceled and sells almost a million copies. Thats a million fans that were obviously watching the show, what about the huge percentage of people who don't own DVD players or don't purchase DVD's for collection? The cancelation of these show has nothing to do with viewers, it has to do with the network saying "screw giving these people quality TV when we can make a full reality season for under 100k."
Please any network that gets a hold of this petition, please consider us fans of quality TV and give a show like Wonderfalls at least a half season to prove itself in a semi decent time slot. If it doesn't bring in decent numbers at that point, then we'll know it at least wasn't canceled before ever airing.
I never in my wildest dreams ever thought I would watch the WB network, then Buffy, Angel, Felicity, and Dawson's Creek (the early seasons anyway) changed how I viewed TV, no longer was I forced to watch bad sitcoms. When Angel leaves the WB this year I will say farewell to the WB after 7 years of viewing, like I did when I stopped watching UPN after Buffy left the network and nothing semi intelligent was ever produced to draw me back. If WB and UPN want to be considered a network runner with the other 4, then give us a reason to help make you a contender by picking up shows like Angel and Wonderfalls.
