There are only three shows I watch every week. "Wonderfalls" was one of them. It's one of the quality shows on the air and it would be a step backward for television to cancel this, while allowing crap to remain.
Exactly what will Fox be replacing Wonderfalls with? Surely it's more financially worthy to burn off the remaining episodes than try to come up with something else. What, are they going to bring back "Playing It Straight"? give me a break! Give Wonderfalls another chance.
Wonderfalls rocks. The key is to put it in a prime spot. This is a show that is ripe with potential. Many people whom I know had never even heard of the show, which is probably due to the poor advertising. The key is to know viewers and make it appeal to them. This is a show that needs nurturing. It is genius, and although many people compare this to Joan of Arcadia, this show is far superior and more creative, not relying on cliches, but on imagination and creativity. Please PLEASE PLEASE do not continue to throw away quality television. This is exactly why the major stations' viewership is eroding. Someone please pick this series up before any hope of quality television on the major networks is forever gone and I am stuck resorting to F/X and HBO.
Not only does FOX disgust me for canceling the show. They still plan on airing an episode this week but instead of a new episode, which they stll have 9 more of. They're gonna repeat an old episode? They've only aired 4 episodes and they're going into repeats? WHAT THE HELL IS WRONG WITH THIS STATION?!?!?!!!
Finally a show comes along that has a very real character. Don't cancel! Give it a chance, it hasn't even been that long. First of all, don't put it on a friday night when noone is home.
WONDERFALLS had a solid sampling in its first 2 weeks, averaging 4 million viewers. The series delivers its best performance among teens on Friday night, ranking #1 in its time period. WONDERFALLS is also popular with young men, ranking #2 in its time period among Men 18-34.
ok then!
I can't understand why FOX cancelled Wonderfalls. It was so amazing, I hope FOX will prove to the people who listen it that they consider the opinion of the public
I wonder why the Wonderfalls indeed! From the first time I heard that theme song, I knew this show had great potential. Jaye is a character that really does speak for a generation, and while she isn't lovable (at first), that's a large part of her appeal. This show would fit in very well on the WB. This is like the older-sister of most WB shows, and it would be a great way for WB to hold on to their teenage audience as they grow up. At the very least, air the first season. It's already done, and people want to see it. Capitalize on the press, and get this show back on the air. Wonderfalls deserves it.
Fox is cancelling this show because it didn't get good ratings??? I wonder why... Maybe it's because Fox scheduled Wonderfalls on FRIDAY?!!! I hope WB or NBC picks up the show.
Canceling this show for low ratings at 9pm on Friday and going head to head with "The Appentice" after less than a month would be about what I expected from FOX.
Please save this show, it is the best thing I have seen on TV since FOX went and cancelled Firefly...and look what happened there! HUGE DVD sales, AND a movie deal! Dont make the same mistake twice!
Quality once again loses to crap like The Swan and other reality shows given favor by networks. The audience is being made into bad tv viewers with the lose of such great shows as Wonderfalls. Show this creative production the respect it deserves and bring it back. X-files wasn't the highest Fox show in it's day and look how long it ran. The audience is there - trust the originality of Wonderfalls and bring it back with support!
In a time when great shows like Firefly and Angel are pulled before there time it's sad to see Wonderfalls in such quality but underappreciated programing. And the networks wonder why cable kicks their asses at award time.
Please give this show another chance to find viewers! Most of the lineup on Fox has failed in the Thursday & Friday timeslots. If 'Tru Calling' received a whole year, Wonderfalls certainly deserves a reprieve.
Finally a show airs that is not Reality based, with real actors (great ones) and the network doesn't even give it a life jacket to stay afloat! Hey WB and UPN this show is great pick it up!!!
Fox has a long history of creating awsome shows and then they axe them. I'm still mad about Brisco County Jr. Wonderfalls is awsome and I will stop watching all Fox programs including the OC if we cannot keep it around!!
I haven't been able to watch any sitcoms in a long time because there hasn't been anything good in a while. Finally, Wonderfalls came along. Definitely one of the best shows ever, but Fox wants to kill it. BRING BACK WONDERFALLS! (or go to a different station!)
It's a great show. I can accept cancellation, but not so soon. It was on Friday nights and the against CSI and The Apprentice. I don't call that a fighting chance.
Very disappointed to see a quality show go off the air before getting a fair chance. Not a smooth move. Why not give us a chance to "bring it back" with a special showing of the unaired episodes and see if we can't get enough people tuned in?
Remember Married with Children and how it started? I can't believe these guys from FOX don't learn at least from their own company history. Wake up, heloooo... !?!
Wonderfalls has quickly become one of my favorite shows. It is funny and smart and I can't wait to see what will happen next. It really deserves a chance!
I just don't understand why a quality show would be cancelled when other useless tv shows are still on the air. The show really wasn't given a chance to settle in and find the right audience.
How can such a great show be cancelled?? The writing, the concept, the acting were all superb. The network just sets up their shows for failure, it is really surprising since I can only assume that they are in the business to make money. This show has aired about three episodes, has done the time slot dance, and they are now cancelling it. Absolutely amazing! The genius of these network executives really astounds me (insert sarcastic grimace here). They have not given the show a chance to get an audience and really thrive. Which it defintely has the potential to do. Shame on them. Shame, I say. I am about to cancel my cable subscription right along with the cancelling of all my favorite shows. Let's see them bring in the revenue with no viewers!
Unimpressed, Fox, unimpressed.
And replacing it with filth like The Swan? What are the execs smoking?
Way to pull another Firefly. Hope it shoots back in your face.
Fox is stupid if they let this show off the air. Some other networks should pick it up because Fox doesn't get as high of ratings anyway. SELL IT TO NBC or something!
I found out that Fox has aired Wonderfalls out of order, and never had any intention of giving it a good time slot! I don't know that Fox deserves the show after they treated it the same way they treated Firefly, but I do know that Wonderfalls is an INCREDIBLE testimate to all-around ENTERTAINING television, and it has my 110% support to follow it to ANY network that will do it justice!
Hello who was the idiot that gave it that time slot - it is a well written witty unique program the kind that should be on the air - get with it people
Why do no new shows get a chance anymore. Especially if they deviate from the "norm". This was the first new show in a few years that I've made an appointment to sit down and watch EVERY time it was on. C'mon WB or UPN show us your smarts and pick it up PLEASE!!!!!
My wife and I made special attempts to see Wonderfalls and were disappointed that it was moved from Fri to Thurs. Now it's gone altogether and we are both just shaking our heads.
Of all the times you play American Idol you would think you would have had Wonderfalls on after it one night so a larger audience could test it out- Friday nights give me a break even established shows wouldn't fare any better there
Ok. Maybe it didn't have the required audience for a brand new show, but cancelling such a clever show before it can show the world what it's all about I think it's not the greatest idea. I understand we live in a market driven world, but hello, looking at all the TV shows I don't think you can choose 2 or 3 which are better. Even myself I watched it first when it came to episode 3, and instantly fell in lve with it. Give it a chance, com'on it's obvious it's a very good show!!!
Finally - a break of originality, intelligency and humor saves us from the BOREDOM of reality cookie-cutter programming. If FOX doesn't want Wonderfalls, maybe we should get it on the WB.
I am so devastated that Wonderfalls is gone. There is absolutely nothing left on broadcast tv to watch after this year. So very sad and disappointed about this cancellation. Why even tease us with quality only to have it yanked away?
Stop cancelling shows simply because they don't pull in 20 million viewers the first week! Seinfeld got a slow start too, you know! At least give the show to another network.
Once reality tv starts biting the networks in the ass, what will you have left. This show is amazing and funny. And totally original. Fox do not be stupid enough to cancel this show!
This is one of the best shows on TV. IF you wouldn't put it up against a top rated show like CSI it would have faired better. Why not pick a day to put it on without to much competition until it gets a strong following behind it?
Wow. Another quality show is quickly cancelled. What's next FOX - Arrested Development? And all to make room for more "reality" programming I'm sure. What a shame.
Did the programming department at FOX even consider that running a quirky, original show on Friday nights (a night usually reserved for dull, family programming) would doom it right from the start? FOX caters to the lowest common denominator, so I'm not surprised at the cancellation. Just very, very disappointed. Yes, I realize that reality shows cost next-to-nothing to produce, but some of us actually enjoy good scripts and quality acting. FOX made some really bad choices. Bring Wonderfalls back!
Okay, okay, FOX, Wonderfalls is/was too clever and subtle for network TV. You shoulda seen that coming. But at least RUN THE REMAINING EPISODES--I'll watch it any night, any time you run it.
